Lock was not complicated to install but having one person hold the exterior half while the other person installs the mounting plate for the interior half makes installation much easier. The installation instructions are adequate but the print is small. There are three screws that attach the mounting plate to the exterior half. I suggest coating them with Vaseline or other grease before screwing them in. It took several minutes for the app to connect to the lock but the app worked well and has useful features. The ability to set the time of the delay before relocking is a significant plus for carrying in items such as groceries from the car. Construction is solid, attractive.

Excellent product. Great support. Purchased more a half dozen of the NFC Latch locksets here on Amazon over the last few months. They have worked great. I use the phone app. I tried the Windows app once and it's not ready for prime time so my suggestion is to stay away from it. Back on subject. I had an issue with the Bluetooth with one unit and I called technical support. Support was fantastic. We troubleshot the issue and they sent a replacement unit via RMA. No hassle. No fuss. And they are in California so there is minimal shipping delay.The lock is easy to program and use once you get the app logic down. The phone app is very good.Anybody can make and sell you something. But you don't really know how good a company truly is until you have a problem. So I discovered that U-Tec stands behind their product. They really came through.

The lock was easy to install and connected to Home Assistant without issues. After several months the mechanical latch began to experience issues. U-Tec customer support was very quick and efficient at replacing the lock and I have not had issue since.

It’s a great easy security door lock system. Programmed a number of family codes was easy.

LIke the product very much, works great. Very good quality. I had a problem (of my own doing) and when I called support to see if I could repair the damage I had done, they replaced the entire unit. Customer support is great, too!

This is a bold-faced lie.2) The system crashed the day after I was able to return it.a) Disconnected from the internet/WIFIB) Not able to communicate with the hardware remotelyC) The front screen went dark and stopped functioningD) HERE IS THE BEST ONE! The door lock CANNOT lock or unlock manually from the inside.Why is this important? Because the key that comes with the lock will unlock the door, but cannot lock the door. Let that sink in. What you are ready is correct.E) Customer Service is horrendous. I still have not spoken to anyoneAs a lock for rental properties, the score is -100The photo is from a locksmith coming out to try to fix the lock, only to have to replace it. WE also lost the renter because they felt unsafe (YOU THINK). This lock cost us $2900! Lesson learner!

Great NFC Lock. Installation was easy. Adding my phone to "tap and open" worked easily. Then added that as a digital key to Samsung Wallet. Adding this lock to SmartThings is done by linking the Ultraloq account to Samsung. Then I was able to create a routine to automatically unlock it when I arrived home. The widget is handy. Each user can have a code, granted app access and/or NFC privileges. Works with Amazon Alexa for voice commands. Best part is the lock fits a door thickness up to 2" and they have an extension kit if you need bigger. (The photos saying 1 3/4" thick are wrong.) Much easier access than fingerprints. Fit and finish is very high quality. Pre-purchase tech support was great.

This is a beautiful lock and I really wanted to like it, but here are the problems I ran into:Installation:• The lever handles have a hex screw which secures them onto the lock shaft. The holes for the screws were not tapped with threads! Luckily I had a metric tap (and the capability) with which I threaded the hole for the set screws. (very small and fiddly!) Not everyone would have the tools to accomplish this. (so, subtract 1 star)Function:• This lock is ALWAYS locked. If you step outside for 30 seconds, you are locked out and must enter the code EVERY TIME to get back in. Very exasperating, especially with children. (minus 2nd star)You can change the lock function to a Passage style in the app, but you must log back into the app to re-enable the lock function. Not feasible for children, guests or non-tech family members without access to the App.Support:• Tech support confirmed this is how the lock works, so I requested a function to “toggle” it unlocked, then re-lock the next time the code is entered (how a normal lock operates), but no interest in accommodating my request. (minus 3rd star)This is a nice, heavy, strong lock, but these shortcomings make it a real Pain in the Neck to install and use. Look elsewhere for your next door lock.

As based in the UK no verification codes are allowed meaning a different method is required for registration. This is not made clear and should be. However customer service was swift and pointed me in the direction of a solution.

Installed lock about a month ago. It was easy to install and looks great. Downloaded and installed U-tec software. Was not able to connect to my wifi at all. It was very hard to connect with the lock. Supples batteries went dead after month and door would not lock. Reolacing batteries solved problem. Newer version of software fixed connextivity problems and allowed firmware update. Lock works good. I am happy with the locks. (I have two).

I'm a handy person but this was a little chore to install. Has improved quality of life a lot not having to take keys with me. Auto locking is a great feature. So much better than a smart deadbolt: unlocks instantly (rather than having to electronically turn a bolt) because it just clicks some internal mechanism so that the handle responds to turning, meaning less likely to jam. Well worth the price.
