Is this too big to be a carry on on a plane?

I use this bag every time I fly. I even have a 2l water bottle carrier on the side and an administration molle pouch on the lower back. I can get away with this as a "personal item" as well as a rolling carry on bag. I just carry it low next to my leg as I board the plane. I've never stowed under a seat either. Remember, that's what the straps are for. Use them! Anyone that tells you "no" to this question doesn't know how to pack.

Does the pack come with the American flag patch ?

Mine (the black one) did come with an American flag on it. But it's a Velcro patch so if you don't want it, you can easily pull it off.

Is there a compartment for a hydration bladder?

This military tactical backpack has a compartment for hydration bladder 2.5L , it's on the back of backpack.

Im a 6' 300 lb guy. Would this be a good fit or would it be tight?

Yes and no. I'm 5'11" 240lbs. The chest and shoulder straps fit great. No issues there. The belly strap is REAL snug though. It could do to have a couple extra inches added onto it for comfort.
