This is a good little motivator for getting my 8 year old to take on some responsibility for reading on her own. She enjoys seeing the reading count down. This allows her to read and mark down her minutes. She has been doing a ready challenge at the library, so she can now track her own reading time. I’m hoping it continues to help her with her 20 minute reading homework each night when school starts.

Included this in my daughter's Christmas stocking this year as a stocking stuffer! It's a been an easy way for her to keep track of her reading minutes, and she loves that it functions also as bookmark to keep her in place in her book. It's been a been helpful purchase on her reading journey at a great price.

My kids have to read 30 minutes a night for school and this is the perfect timer. It is very easy to use. It lasts a few years. We had to replace this once. Honestly, replacing it is cheaper than buying a battery for it. The bookmark concept is great as well. Both my kids have one!

Not the most exciting gift to receive. My sister-in-law suggested one for our niece. It used as a tool to start when a child/student starts reading and stop when they lose focus. They could track their growth as a reader by seeing if they could read for longer periods of time even if it is seconds or minutes at a time.

My kids ages 7 and 9 both love these! My 7 year old daughter uses it to count up how many minutes she's read, pausing and continuing throughout the day to get her total for her summer reading log at night. My 9 year old son sets the timer for his obligated 20 minutes and counts down until he's done! Works for everyone, can't recommend enough to help kids be independent and more accurate about how much they're reading!

I am happy that the maker of this product makes themselves available to those of us with questions. The idea behind this timer is wonderful, and I don't think I've seen another brand with the ability to set a certain time. We would have tried one with a light but given some of the reviews decided to start with a basic model. I will be calling the manufacturer soon. A+ for the idea, C+ (so far) for how the timer bookmark works. Hope to have better news soon!

Fits snugly in paperback book to keep my place. The timer is easy to use and very handy.
