Simple to use. Quality was good. It hold the bag not so well though.

I want to start by saying there are many reviewers who expressed their disappointment in the poor packaging this item came in, causing dents or scratches to the can. Ours was well packaged in a heavy duty cardboard box, each of the four corners were wrapped in Styrofoam, so there were no dents or marks on the can. It is quite long, to accommodate the two compartments, but it is narrower than the previous can we had so it fits in the same space. The lids open easily with the foot pedal, only a light press needed and the lids do not fly open to hit the wall, they open gently and easily, they also have a slow close. You can also hold them open for easier access during cooking or cleaning, you just need to give the lids a light push, while they are already open and they will stay open, just tap the foot pedal and they will close again. Others have expressed not liking the company logo on the top of each lid, they have bought stickers deafferenting the trash compartment from the recyclable one, since we do not put our recyclables in a plastic bag, not allowed in our municipality, the bright green bin is easily identified so we didn't cover the logos. We haven't been bothered by the logos. Highly recommended even with the high cost.

Weird to be writing a review about a trashcan but here I am! I have had it for about 8 months now and it is still durable. Having the lids controlled by the step is great, a little noisy and squeaky when the lid goes down. Only thing, I am not sure if I got a faulty one, is that the trash cans get stuck when you put them back in the container after taking the bag out. The cans get lodged on some part of the container and it takes multiple tries to get it to fit just right because if not the lid doesn't close. Other than that, good trashcan.

I mean, it's nothing to really brag about, it's a double trash/recycling can. I actually thought I was getting a hands free, meaning motion sensor,but my fault, I guess. I'm not returning it, it would cost too much. For the $ they could've added 1 trial sample of the odor free filters, you have to purchase separately. And in the pic you can see your bags will still show, granted mine are bright blue, but hey! That's what I have at the moment. Can't just run out and buy black. Even though I love these ones bc they smell good! You have to tussle with the inside bins as well to get them in the right spot, so the lid comes down to shut...I would've purchased a different one altogether.

Tried this out because I wanted to save a couple bucks rather than buying from a bigger brand that’s slightly more expensive and that I knew you had to buy their bags.I assumed this SimpliMagic allowed you to put in regular garbage bags since there is no specific bag code like the other bins out there. However, immediately I noticed that regular trash bags bunch up, fall down, or just don’t stay.Some people have mentioned not using a bag at all which is guess is fine for the recyclables side (make sure to rinse and dry glass and cans well) but it wouldn’t do this for the side with regular trash. Sure, the insert bin pulls out but layers of rotting caked up food in the nooks and crannies of that thing is a no-go for me.Lastly, the design is just kind of weird. It mentions a feature for the lid to stay open. I feel like the quality of the lid opening is then messed up because I did that once and now my lid doesn’t open all the way. Also, it often takes multiple times to get the insert to slide into the correct position for the lids to close.Alas, it’s just a trash bin but it’s a real bummer for the price point that it doesn’t do any of the things that I paid for it to do. If I’d known this, I would have paid more money to buy the original bin that it’s ripping off.

Would have been a cool trash can if it didn’t arrive damaged. Return process too cumbersome (ups pickup but I have to be present, too heavy/big to transport to ups facility in my car, needs to be repacked) so I decided to keep it despite the damage. Was really disappointed there wasn’t an option for at least a partial refund considering it was a damaged 140$ trash can.
