Sonicism 12 Pack Sound Proof Foam Panels for Walls Self-Adhesive 12"X12"X1"

Bought these to sound insulate the ac unit in a closet. Were easy to cut and stick to the walls and the vast majority have held... a few needed to be pressed in place later. Sound wise, using a decibel meter, they made a pretty decent difference in the sound coming out of the closet.

I saw a lot of reviews saying that theirs came damaged. Mine came flat as well, they’re not damaged all you need to do is run your nail, coin, ruler, something hard over them and they pop right back up. Shame people leave bad reviews without trying to fix them :/ as far as quality they do a decent/good job. you’ll need a lot more if you want a huge difference in sound reduction. I used these to keep the sound in because my buildings walls are thin and they definitely work. worried about removal though because they super stuck to the wall. UPDATE: These were super hard to get off the wall. It was very time consuming and was left with grease stains. If you don’t use an adhesive remover they will rip off the paint so be careful!

I bought 36 of these to deaden my small home studio - not enough to fully cover the walls but at least they cut down on all the echo. The adhesive is very effective - I followed the instructions and gave each one a thorough push against the wall and not one has come loose. Problem is, I didn't do enough research and was not aware of sound absorbing blankets. I just got six and hung them around my space and they are great, especially combined with the foam pads that are still up. If you decide to go the foam pad route, I cannot recommend highly enough that you first lay out a barrier of blue painter's tape on the surface you plan to stick the pad to, and then stick the pad to the blue painter tape. It'll take you about 5 minutes time per pad, if that, to cut off the tape and stick it to the surface, but you will save yourself so much time, mess and effort in the event you decide you want to move or remove the pads. I now know from experience what an utter pain it is to remove these and then remove the chunks of foam and adhesive that remains (mineral spirits or denatured alcohol work well, but what a mess!). So in summary, the pads absorb sound pretty well and the adhesive is great - perhaps too great in the event you find you want to move the pads. For my part, tho, sound absorbing blankets would have been the better choice.

This is definitely inexpensive sound proofing. You get what you pay for. The foam separates from the self-adhesive backing. The foam is very thin. I am not convinced any sound deadening was achieved.

Good product. The paper for the adhesive backing can be tough to peel off, but the adhesive itself is awesome. These panels aren't moving, period. Only complaint is that the squares aren't totally symmetrical. You'll be lining up the next panel, only to realize the squares don't align perfectly. Does this effect performance? No. But it'll bug those with ocd

Neighbor dogs bark loudly right outside my bedroom window so I was looking for a solution. These had good reviews and are relatively cheap. When I received them a few were flattened in shipment (it makes sense because they come vacuum sealed). I pulled them apart and set them aside until I can clean and prep my window. After a day or two I got around to prepping and they were all plumped up. They stick very well, are sturdy, and easy to cut for a snug fit. While the barking isn't completely muffled, it provided a significant improvement. I would recommend!

Used this to silence our noisy HVAC. Our large air return vent is in the living area, and the inner sheet metal obnoxiously echoed all the noisy blower sound into the living area. Took off the grill, wiped the sheet metal with a wet rag, cut to fit all insides of the metal “box” duct, and pressed well. It’s seems well stuck, and I don’t expect it to fall off. It’s significantly better, essentially silent, and we no longer need to adjust TV volume every time the a/c comes on!
