Will this fit a 2003 mini cooper?

Dear customer, it is not fit for 2003 mini cooper.

Does this also have the rubber covered button to release the hatch back lock or will I need to reuse my old one

It has the rubber covered button. everything on the old piece is on the new one! My rubber piece cracked and then water ruined my license plate lights. This fixed everything, super SUPER easy to install, only four star screws.

Do I need to use the chrome cover or can I use my OEM paint matched cover and just replace the hatch button?

I used the chrome cover on my Mini Cooper S R56 because I have other chrome trim on my car however I had painted cover previously and it appears you can take the new hatch button and use original cover.

Will this fit a 2005 R53?

I don’t know. I can confirm it fits a 2012 R56
