With a new foreword by Ken BlanchardHow management can effectively rid themselves of ‘monkeys’ – other people’s responsibilities that cling to them and prevent them managing efficiently. This book explains in simple-minded if abstract terms how to achieve a balance between supervision and delegation for reduced tension and improved productivity in the workplace.‘There is a high correlation between self-reliance and morale,’ stress the authors. With humour and logic they describe the delicate business of assigning monkeys to the right masters and keeping them healthy, i.e., fed and cared for: ‘… if monkeys are managed properly, you don't have to manage people so much.’ Review: Must read for all Managers - The author has beautifully captured the pertinent issues of all Managers striving to balance their essential requirements and optimize effect. The author brings out vivid examples of work and time management. This book is a must read for all Managers, whatever be their level of management. The example of discretionary time may also be considered as a stepping stone for developing Leadership qualities. Review: Value of time - Intresting, i bought for my son

This is a good book that can be finished within a week. It shares impotant thoughts to managers which are realy basic but very important. Very good for new managers and managers who are time-pressed.

Monkeys on your shoulders
Great book that I bought for friend and is my second purchase. Very good read to ensure you understand how you can take on people’s issues, responsibilities etc and those issues are illustrated as monkeys. Would and have bought this again and recommend.

It really gives you an insight into how best managing yourself, your relationship with your manager and more importantly your team.
