Perfect for use with Powerblock Pro and straight bar
I hesitated to buy these at first because of the high price point, but I could not be happier with the product and the value. Absolutely worth the price. “Feels” like a very high quality product, too.I use them with a Powerblock Pro set and they work so perfectly it’s like they’re made for it specifically. Allows you to get those 12.5 lb / 22.5 / 32.5 / etc increments that the set can’t do. Simple to add / remove. So quick that it doesn’t disrupt the workout at all. Just the right amount of magnetism that they’re easy to remove, but you don’t worry about them falling off, either. And they work great with the Powerblock straight bar if you have that, too. Just add them right to the flat part of the handles where the weight chart is displayed. And again, this allows you to fill the holes of 45 lb / 65 / 85 that the bar can’t do on its own.Perfection!

For in-between weights
Perfect accessory for dumbbell workouts when you are between weight increments. These plates are magnetic and attach directly to metal surfaces to increase the weight for your workout.

Handy
Work great for microloading the bar. I know fractional plates do the same thing but these just pop on the end of the bar without having to remove clips/clamps

for Cast Iron weights, more possibilities equal more gains
These plates are not for any rubber coated weights, but if you have cast iron metal dumbbells these stick on beautifully and the magnets are very strong. They come off with a small tug. But they don't fall off which is so important. I have used these plates to progress through my lifting and have gotten results that just wouldn't be possible without them! They are worth the investment because you can reuse them and customize your workouts over and over.

Make sure you buy two sets
These work great and do attach well to my neoprene weights, although I can understand that the manufacturer wouldn’t want to guarantee it.They are quite strong on iron dumbbells and don’t get in the way.Just make sure you buy two sets for a total of four so you can get the 2.5 increment on each dumbbell you hold. Unlike me who didn’t do the math right and realized to late that one on each 15lb dumbbell didn’t actually make 17.5 lbs. Had I done the math right I would have probably purchased something else that gave me what I needed in a lesser expensive purchase. That being said, I’ve moved to adjustable dumbbells that do adjust in 2.5 lb increments, and I can see these 1.25lb plates still be useful on those.

Perfect for the in-between weights.
These magnets are great. They are on the pricey side for what they are, if you take them at face value. However, the magnets are strong, the weight is accurate, and the rubber coating shows no sign of wear after a couple months of use. These are perfect for the in-between weights, for movements that use lighter dumbbells… where moving up from 10-15lbs is a 50% increase. With 2 sets of these magnets, we’ve added 7.5, 12.5, 17.5, 22.5, etc. to our weight rack without any increase in space needed. This is where the somewhat high cost is forgotten. The magnets do stick to *some* rubber coated dumbbells (they don’t claim to be able to), they stick to the bottom of our kettlebells, they easily stick to the face of Olympic plates, and they stick nicely to the ends of my adjustable dumbbell set (Nuobell 5-80lb adjustable dumbbells).

Great product, but not as magnetically strong as their big brothers
I really like the PlateMates and I've owned 2 pair of larger donut shaped ones for years. It's great to be able to add just 1 to 2 lbs for certain exercises rather than trying to go up to the next weight which is usually 5 lbs more. I thought these Hex shaped ones would work better with some of my dumbbells and they fit better, but they don't attach quite as securely. I don't think it will be a problem for most exercises, but there are some quick P90X routines I do where I'd be worried about it slipping off. I'd have given these 5 stars if the magnets were stronger.
