Apple iPad, OtterBox Defender Series rugged, drop protective case with multi-position cover/stand for iPad 5th/6th generation 9.7" (inch) - Black (77-55876)

Needed a really robust case for my daughter's iPad 2017 which she uses at school, this certainly hits the mark. Found it very easy to put on. We did add a glass screen protector first, to give the iPad some added protection, and this didn't cause any issues with the case. The case is very solid, although does add some weight, and comes with a proper lid, which doubles as the stand. It is one of the very few case the had a lid, rather than a flap. My daughter's school has such faith in these cases, that if you drop your iPad and it breaks while in the case, they will replace the iPad it free of charge. We purchased a cheaper case first and it was nowhere near as good as this one. It's definitely worth payimg the extra for this case.

Been a few weeks now since xmas, this was a replacement for a gumdrop case that hasnt even lasted a year, previous gumdrop lasted 6 so was dissapointed with quality given price. Id had a defender case on an old phone that took a lot of beating, dropped on concrete at stables etc so, thought id give it a bash for my daughters ipad. Compared to the gumdrop its akready holding up well as by now the gumdrop charger cover was already torn off with minimal wear/use, not the defender. I love the extra protection the top cover/stand gives too when its on the front when ipad isnt being used. Its a lot sleeker and lughter than the gumdrop we think too and of course much better quality. Will see as time goes on but impressed up to now.

I always choose OtterBox for my iPhones for their superb durability and ruggedness. So choosing this for my IPad was a no brainier. Normal OtterBox quality but with the added bonus of the cover/stand. Great for the kids as it’s drop proof and comes with inbuilt screen protector. And great for travelling as you can protect it with the lid and use the stand to watch movies etc. More expensive than a lot of other cases but well worth it.

Have been using the old Otterbox for 7 years now and it's so sturdy and really protects my old I pad. I have dropped it numerous times etc and it's been great.Because I got a new iPad for Christmas I wanted the same for that one.It a arrived quickly and it's quite expensive for the case. The only bad point was the smell of the rubber etc. It stank and I had to air it out. I don't like the idea of all the off gassing of the chemicals etc but I suppose all cases will be the same.Great product but a bit prices and also smells a bit from the new rubber.

This is a very sturdy case. Really happy with the build quality and protection it provides. Worth the extra money. The front cover works well as a stand too.

Satisfying fit and finish when attaching it to the iPad, quality looks good, my only concern is the potential life of the soft plastic screen protector however both this example and the one I purchased earlier in the year for my partner's iPad Mini look as good as the day they were fitted.The only down side with 9.7" iPad + Otterbox Defender Series is the total weight is starting to get noticeable but I can live with that.

This is my second iPad Otterbox - being a bit rough with my electronics the Otterbox came out top on a couple of days research and comparison. The unit keeps my IPad Air2 in a pristine condition, is rugged and I think quite stylish.I like the system so much that I have Otterbox protecting my iphone. Recommend.

After spending a very long time checking the details on LOADS of products to find one suitably sturdy to fit my aged iPad, I was disappointed to find despite the description matching the model number exactly, the volume buttons do not match up (the down volume is half under the casing). The screen protector built into the casing is also nothing more than slightly thick cling film. It would be so bad as it could be removed without too much issue, but the casing stops a hardened glass being fitted.Gutted.
