Can this be used for kids bikes and adult bikes?

I've used this for years with my old road bike and my wife's... unfortunately, some of the newer style of road bikes don't fit: they have larger tubes and that reduces the space between the front and rear parts of the frame.

Will this work for a chrysler town and country minivan?

We have a Pacifica and the bike rack fell off the first time we used the. They are designed for minivans, but I would find a better quality product.
