I picked up the JOYO Vintage Overdrive as a simple, budget‑friendly way to boost my EVH Iconic 80W, and it works far better than I expected. It delivers that classic mid‑focused overdrive that tightens the low end and pushes the amp into a more aggressive, responsive feel.As a clean overdrive, it sounds warm and smooth, but where it really shines is as a boost in front of a high‑gain amp. With Drive low and Level high, it adds clarity, bite and definition without making the tone harsh. It’s exactly the kind of push the Iconic responds to really well.Build quality is solid, the controls are straightforward, and the true bypass is a nice bonus at this price. It’s a simple pedal, but it does its job extremely well.Overall, a great value overdrive that pairs perfectly with high‑gain amps. If you want a classic boost without spending much, this one is hard to beat.

Incredible sound just right, works well as a booster into a gain channel on an amp too, also if you run a distortion pedal into it you get a really thick creamy lead tone.It's well built too

Fabulous pedal I love it. I honestly prefer it to the Tube Screamer. The tone I'm getting with this and my Fender amp is awesome.It also sounds sweet used as a boost for other pedals. My favourite is boosting a Boss Blues Driver. It takes it to another level for solos or a heavier section. And you get sweet feedback.

As a veteran guitarist, I’ve used many pedals of decent quality ( e.g. Boss, EH, Blackstar, Visual Sound) and was pleasantly surprised at how good this budget pedal is. It sounds very smooth to me, not harsh and spikey. Build quality seems good although battery door is a bit of a pain to open but I shouldn’t complain at this price. Having been impressed by this pedal, I’ve now bought the Joyo King of Kings dual overdrive pedal and Joyo compressor. Stacking the left channel of the K of K with the Vintage Overdrive pedal gives me that Gary Moore massive sustain (think Parisienne Walkways). Very happy so far with all these pedals.

For the price your getting a decent tube screamer clone that's in a sturdy metal case and will put up with being gigged and is a permanent fixture on my pedal board. True bypass works well and don't get any loud clicks when engaging the pedal that some clones do.

Sustituye a otro igual que tuve y que me duró muchos años, pero que dejó de funcionar repentinamente. Experimenté con otros pedales tipo Tubescreamer pero no me gustaron. Este tiene un sonido especial que me ha seducido toda la vida. Por tanto, no tuve otro remedio que volver a adquirir otro igual. Gran pedal sin duda que ya se ha convertido en todo un clásico.

Running it into my Orange Dark Terror and I'm enjoying the results. I was looking into tube screamer pedals/ overdrive and a few other clones and decided to give this little guy a shot after having good results with a previous joyo product I purchased. The price is right, quality is solid, does its intended job and sound great. Can't go wrong.

Nous autres guitaristes savons bien que la qualité du son n'est pas toujours proportionnelle à la qualité du matériel.Ici donc, si la qualité de fabrication d'une MIJ handcrafted est bien supérieure (et le prix aussi), la comparaison sonore final est vraiment déconcertante !J'ai pu la comparer à une made-in-Japan handwired à plus de 150€ et elle n'a pas à rougir même s'il y a des différences.Hé bien moi je préfère la Joyo car elle est plus polyvalente alors que la MIJ est sans doute un peu plus lyrique en solo et aussi plus identifiable quand on sait ce qu'on recherche.À mon goût, la Joyo (que vous trouverez aussi sous la marque Harley Benton) donne de meilleurs résultats en rythmiques crunchy.Elle est également robuste et durable, et true bypass. Donc on cherche encore le défaut de cette pédale à 30€.Si vous cherchez une pédale de crunch pas chère type tube screamer, avec une attaque un peu boostée pour les rythmiques, c'est le bon choix.

Suena bien, solo es difícil abrir la tapa para la pila.
