Outward Hound Granby Splash Orange Dog Life Jacket, Medium

Ordered a size large for my Husky x Malamute, who weighs about 33kg. Fairly good quality but I did notice one of the straps was hard to tighten up as it kept coming loose when adjusting it. The front velcro flap could have been longer, but the underside velcro flap was perfect and offered lots of adjustability. Size was spot on, could have been a little longer in the back but provided extra buoyancy when she was swimming. The colour is also bright making her easier to spot in the water. She had no issues running around or swimming in it, and didn't show any discomfort whilst wearing it. Overall very happy with how quickly it was delivered and found it reasonable value for money.

I wanted to buy a lifejacket for my dog as we are taking him on holiday to the Algarve, and so far he hasn't learned to swim (he backs out of water once he feels his body rising). I wanted to be on the safe side, but also as he is not used to hot weather it should help keep him cool when we are on the beach. He can be a bit of a troublemaker too so I thought the handles would be handy in case I need to grab him easily. I'm so happy I chose this jacket! After looking at several options and reviews I opted for this one as it looked to be well adjustable and made from quality materials. Once received, it lived up to those expectations. The velcro on the neoprene waist band is especially useful for fitting it onto my wriggly doggy, and feels comfortable and secure on him. When I lift my dog using the handles the jacket feels comfortable and secure, and he doesn't mind at all. My dog is a crossbreed so I'm never sure what size to buy; I took a chance without measuring and went for a medium, which fit him like a glove! If it helps others, he's a similar height to a staffy but a slimmer build, however the build shouldn't make too much of a difference as there's still a lot of room to adjust the straps for a bulkier or chubbier dog. So far there's nothing I dislike about the product, and for the price I think it's great value for money.

I used the guide to measure my dog's chest and also checked it against his weight (20kg) this would suggest a medium. Trying the jacket on him, the chest fits fine with enough room to adjust but the belly strap is too tight even when at the longest length it goes. It's a shame as otherwise it seems like a good little life jacket!

This jacket fitted my cockapoo perfectly. He was able to swim well in it and the bright colour of it made it easy to spot him.

Fantastic! Nice and bright, saw a blue one recently and thought.. mm if you lost sight of your dog, you wouldn't spot him so easily. It's not overly bright though and very smart to look at. It's paler than the photo but I like it better. It's solidly built and beautifully finished off. Great quality. Fab fit. I have a 2 year old 53lb standard poodle, 28/29" chest and 22" from just below his collar to the base of where his tail starts. I bought the Large and it fits him beautifully, I just needed to adjust the straps. My dog has his name engraved onto his collar but I would have liked to have had a place for his name and my number. I'm thinking about using a sharpie permanent pen to write straight on it Love the neck float which will help to keep his head above water. have tried picking him up via the 2 back handles and they work a treat. Now I have peace of mind for our holiday by the sea and his obsession with retrieving sticks. :) Would def buy again and I highly recommend. :)

Bought this for my King Charles Cavalier Blu when we went on a kayaking trip, he spent more time swimming in it than on the kayak. Big success though, kept him afloat and the handles meant he was easy to grab too!

She loves wearing the life vest. And she is swimming better for it. She is a chuckle dachshund so the medium vest fit well.

I haven't used this jacket yet so my review is just about sizing. It seems well made. The jacket is fastened under the belly with velcro strips and is secured with straps and clips. My border collie has a girth of 25 inches so I ordered the medium size but the velcro section only just engages under his chest and doesn't leave any wriggle room (the two fingers test). The life jacket seems very short along his back compared to the dog on the label (Australian Shepherd). I contacted Outward Hound to ask their opinion and they thought the jacket looked the correct size. They said the length along the dog's back was not important, just the girth size. It is true that even if the velcro is not engaged there are additional fastenings in the form of straps with clips so the life vest can be fastened securely beyond the velcroed sections up to a girth of about 27" but there is room for another row of velcro on the bands so I am going to retro fit these rather than exchange it for the large size. I would say consider ordering the large if you have a dog with a girth larger than 25". Hope this helps.

Great quality and price! Fits my medium dog perfectly and easy to put on. The handles on the back come on handy to pull her out of the water.

Tenho 2 shitzu de mesmo tamanho mas uma tem 6,5kg e outra 8,2kg. O coletinho Sm 16-20 serviu bem em ambas. Testei ele com a que esta de sobrepeso na água e ela boiou e conseguiu apoio/flutuabilidade suficiente pra bater as patinhas pra nadar. Ela sabe nadar mas devido ao sobrepeso cansa e afunda muito rápido. A qualidade do material e muito boa, os velcro , engates, e o recebimento também ocorreu sem problemas.

Le encanta a mi perro, que ya era nadador pero vivimos en donde el mar es bien fuerte. Esto le da a él (y a mi!) mas confianza. Bull Terrie ingles de 26kg y le queda perfecto el chaleco grande.

Por fin un flotador de verdad! Había probado varios chalecos para mi perra y con todos se hundía, ya que es pequeña pero pesa mucho. Este ha sido el único chaleco con el que realmente flota y no tenemos que estar preocupados. La zona del cuello es super importante y buena idea, ya que hace que su cabeza siempre esté sobre el agua.
