Chicago Fire - Season 3

Arguably the best season yet (which is praise indeed) - not only twenty three episodes but five crossovers featuring CHICAGO PD plus LAW & ORDER. The series' greatest strength is portrayal of the firefighting fraternity, each of its stations virtually a second family for those who work there. Here Station 51 still mourns the shock death of a colleague, Kelly in particular finding it hard to adjust. Throughout there is the knowledge each new call to action could mean for the crew danger, serious injuries, perhaps another loss. The action scenes are terrific (not least when that damaged helicopter teeters on a roof edge). One or two episodes begin with great drama, only for further catastrophes to follow - suspense relentless, no guarantee all the team will survive. Despite so much tension, humour abounds (the crew has its clowns), there is also romance (some of it ill-advised). Here are characters to believe in and often greatly to like. Fans will feel they are among friends, sharing their highs and lows. Especially disturbing are threats posed by a serial arsonist brazenly goading firefighters and police. The crossovers work well. For example, on Disc 2 a discovery by the fire crew is followed up by police both in Chicago and New York. It is good to see casts from three series intermingling, this perhaps to become four with the introduction of CHICAGO MED. The box set thus contains far more than most, especially with all the Behind the Scenes bonuses (these often comprising the cast having fun). Hail here a series packed with adrenaline - excitement in plenty, lots of laughs, moments that prove very moving indeed. Creators and cast do firefighters proud, with this worthy reminder of how much we are in their debt.

I Love this series, have since the very first episode. The writers have created an awesome set of characters who quickly feel like family and you worry about them constantly as they put their lives at risk on a daily basis. I have laughed and cried so many times during each season that I should have bought shares in Kleenex ! There is only one drawback and that is the discs themselves. Even though the video and sound quality is excellent, the 'menu' is a joke. Upon loading you just get a series of icons going down the left hand side and there is nothing written to tell you what each icon means, so if you want 'episode selection' or anything similar you have to go searching for the first time and then remember it for next time. Nothing is clearly marked ! Never mind the fact that there is no literature or anything on the cover that indicates how many episodes are on each disc or the names of each episode - so good luck if you're trying to find a specific one. But once again - the series itself is excellent !

Amazing

Season 3 resumes after the cliffhanger at the end of season 2, and sadly we lose a regular character, but on the positive side we do get a fresh face who is another good addition to the show. I enjoyed this season just as much as the first two. The crossovers with P.D. are included, and there are some early appearances from the future cast of Chicago Med. Lots of great action, plenty of drama and humour to go with it. Looking forward to season 4.

Bought to continue along with the CF series. Continues on from the previous, with the bonus of including Chicago Police/Law and Order SVU crossover episodes as well! Only problem I can really say is the menu design and layout if completely different to that of S1 and S2 box sets- however you do get used to how to navigate it eventually.

Chicago Fire keeps impressing me with its great characters and story lines. Plenty of humour and action make every episode zoom by, making me wish each episode was longer. This series includes 23 Chicago Fire episodes and some crossover episodes from Chicago PD and Law and Order: Special Victims that continue the story from one series into another. Some of the action scenes are so spectacular you need to watch the DVD extras to see how they were done. Very good entertainment. Can't wait for the next series!

Chicago Fire ist einer der besten Serien die ich je gesehen habe. Die 3. Staffel beginnt gleich mit einem Schock den ich selbst erstmal verdauen musste. Realistisch und gut durchdachtes Storyboard und grandiosen Schauspielern lassen die fiktiven Einsätze zur Echtheit auferleben so das man einfach nur gespannt oder geschockt ist und man unbedingt wissen möchte, wie es um Severeid, Casey, Dawson & Co weiter geht. Auch emotional hat mich die Serie seit Staffel1 gepackt, so das auch ich hier die ein oder andere Träne vergossen habe. Ich freue mich auf die 4. Staffel. Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung und hoffe das ich den Menschen die sich unsicher sind, Chicago Fire anzusehen die Entscheidung abnehmen konnte es doch zu tun. ihr bereut es nicht 😊👍

+++Warning, this contains minor spoilers from Season 2, but no major spoilers from season 3+++ Season three of Chicago Fire sees the first major cast turnover in the show, with two series regulars departing. One of the departures is a carryover from the season two cliffhanger and shakes up the firehouse at the outset of the season and continues to have major ramifications throughout the season, including in one of the crossover episodes with Chicago PD. The other departure comes toward the end of the season. As far as season three goes, it is much in the same vein as the first two seasons with story arcs of various sizes and importance, that play out between emergencies. Some of those this season include Chief Borden, becoming a dad, Casey getting in deep with shady people through his construction gig, Severide's spiraling personal life, and more. Throughout the season, there are a couple of crossover events that include Fire, PD, and Law and Order SVU, including calling back to a case from SVU 10 years prior. Season three again ends on a big cliffhanger, but much different than the one in the season two finale. This season also includes an introduction to the new show, Chicago Med, as well as an episode that is basically a backdoor pilot for Med, which would premiere the next year. Some of the cast members who would be series regulars on Med made at least one appearance on Fire, and of course, characters from Chicago PD appeared regularly on Fire in small cameo drop-ins throughout the season. For those who get the DVD, the bonus material includes behind-the-scenes featurettes for each episode and the episodes from Chicago PD and Law and Order SVU that were a part of the crossover events. Overall, the show continues to be well-written and well-acted. It is a bit soap-opera-ish because of the fact that there is, for the most part, not a case of the week, but accidents that are mainly resolved within a few minutes of screen time. Hence there is more of a focus on the character's relationships and personal lives during the downtime between the emergencies. That said, the show does a good job balancing out the soap opera-like elements with the job-related elements to keep the show from getting too cheesy and keeping it interesting. If you were a fan of the first couple of seasons of the show it is definitely worth sticking with for the third season.

Fascinado con la serie y sus dramas

Série terriblement bien écrite, servie par des scénarios forts et jamais répétitifs et portée par des acteurs talentueux et ultra crédibles dans leurs rôles, la production de Dick WOLF franchit un nouveau palier, en nous entrainant dans des intrigues toujours plus intenses. On retrouve nos héros préférés, six semaines après le terrible incendie qui a eu lieu lors de l’épisode final de la saison 2, les pompiers et les ambulanciers font face à la mort d’un des leurs, où l’on voit chacun réagir différemment, sur le plan émotionnel et psychologique. Des changements vont se produire au niveau de la répartition du personnel amené à lutter contre le feu, ainsi que du personnel médical, qui va nous faire découvrir des petits nouveaux, ce qui va amener des tensions entre les deux équipes et le départ d’un personnage principal. Les relations entre les protagonistes sont toujours traitées de façon crédible et intéressante et les scènes d’action ne manquent pas, assurant toujours un parfait équilibre. Les scénarios fournissent des intrigues riches en péripéties et maintiennent un suspense constant, jusqu’au final, une fois de plus trépidant, où l’un des personnages les plus aimés des fans, se retrouve en grand danger et a complétement disparu de la circulation. Pour savoir s’il est encore en vie, il faudra attendre la suite, en début de saison 4. Autrement, il y a la présence de trois crossovers directs avec d’autres séries créées par Dick WOLF : à suivre dans des épisodes de « New York Unité Spéciale » et « Chicago Police Department », offerts dans la section bonus. Sachant que le Blu Ray existe pour la série, mais qu’il n’y a aucune édition française disponible, j’ai été obligée de me tourner vers l’import Anglais, qui est de très bonne qualité. Le boitier plastique comprend les 23 épisodes répartis sur 6 disques. L’image est tout simplement superbe et permet de profiter pleinement de la qualité HD. Le son n’est pas en reste, il est très correct et chose importante, offre la Version Française, mais aussi la version Anglaise avec Sous-Titres Français, pour ceux qui seraient plus tentés de regarder la série en Version Originale, portée par les vraies voix des acteurs, ce qui est vraiment un plus. Mais chacun fera selon sa préférence. Vraiment hâte de découvrir la saison suivante.
