Percy The Park Keeper - The Classic Collection [DVD]

This is a much loved DVD. The animations are charming and the stories lines gentle and engrossing for toddlers. None of the loud bright modern look but a gentler approach. A park keeper has lots of animal friends as he tends the park. He is kind and is often helping them with their troubles or sorting his own problems out in an amusing way. Lovely wild life characters and has kept me enchanted let alone the children.

Just delightful, the music, the animation is sweet and delightful the stories kind and gentle all from an apparent time when road rage never existed and the worlds biggest worry was homemade lemonade. Jolly happy Percy never frustrated always patient whatever troubles and worries the fox, the badger, the mice and the rabbits bring upon him. The DVD and the books are equally delightful they will be enjoyed for many years by boys and girls and, for sure parents.

This DVD is a rare gem in childrens entertainment. Percy is a kind, caring 'gardener' who lives in his little shed (very well equiped for a small space) with all his animal 'friends' around. All lovely episodes with good stories teaching children about caring for the environment and other people/animals. Would thoroughly recommend as 'family viewing'. We all love it in our house.

This is absolutely lovely for young children. There is such a lot of awful DVD's out now, but this has a lovely story of the Park Keeper helping the woodland animals. Good for children to watch before bed, or when they may not be feeling too well. Calming and very cute with a happy ending!

Overall good but animation very dated by todays standards.

I bought this DVD for my grand-nephew, on the strength of the reviews here at Amazon, and enjoyed it so much that I'm ordering a copy for myself. The stories have just enough suspence to be exciting, but with comfy, reassuring happy endings; the animation is delightful; and Jim Broadbent is the best narrator of children's stories in the world! But beware! You'll be singing the catchy title music for the rest of the day!

This DVD is a really beautiful adaptation of Nick Butterworth's books. The animations are bold and clear and have an old style feel about them. Jim Broadbent provides a very apt voice of Percy. Suitable for pre-school children through to Key Stage 1 (up to about 7 years old - although my 8 and 9 year old still enjoy watching them). Would make a lovely present for both boys and girls.
