Depeche Mode: Monument [Burmeister, Dennis, Lange, Sascha] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Depeche Mode: Monument Review: Must have for every Depeche Mode fan - This book is an awesome collection of photos of Depeche Mode memorabilia and summary stories. If you’re a Depeche Mode fan but also don’t like clutter, this book is for you. You don’t have to spend your life savings buying memorabilia and then have it all sitting around collecting dust, you can enjoy photos of it. I’ve loved Depeche Mode for almost four decades but I’m not the type of fan to go crazy collecting memorabilia. I’d rather have a few nice t-shirts, their music to listen to over and over again, and books to look at. So I’m very pleased with this book. It makes a great coffee table book and a great gift for any hardcore Depeche Mode fan. Review: 5 Stars for the Book | 0 Stars for desertcart Packing - This is an amazing book filled with all the DM ephemera and info you can imagine. Easily the best book for hardcore DM fans to date. I must admit I kinda stopped following them after Alan left and their sound shifted into that weird blues gospel hybrid. No thanks. But as a big fan of theirs throughout the 80’s and early 90’s this book doesn’t disappoint. Brought back a lot of memories from seeing them on the Black Celebration, MFTM and Violator tours. Highly Recommend. What’s disappointing is how desertcart chooses to package items, regardless of the cost. My $50 copy arrived loose in a box twice the size of the book with no protection. The book’s corners were dinged up and there were also scuff marks on the back from the box probably being tossed around in transit. Same thing happened with a $100 Herzog blu-ray set I bought a while back. No point in returning it either as the replacement arrives with the same careless packaging. Just something to be aware of. If you’re wanting a mint copy, desertcart probably isn’t the place due to their carelessness with packaging.

The ultimate Depeche Mode book, every fan will love it.
420 full-color pages filled to the brim with album and single artwork, concert and promotional photos (official and unreleased alternate takes), rare merchandise, promo items, etc, etc, etc., coupled with a comprehensive history of the band from the very beginning up to the present year (2017). Informative and detailed, with touches of humor, but never boring or long-winded; it sticks to the facts. This book is the product of a German fan's amazing collection, with an emphasis on German memorabilia (but this edition is in English). Each album gets about 20-30 pages, which includes solo projects, tours, and special interviews. I started reading at the beginning and then suddenly I was 70 pages in, it's really enjoyable. I've been a DM fan since the late 80's and I'm discovering all sorts of new things in this massive tome. The Table of Contents are as follows: Preface - 7 Basildon - 8 Speak & Spell - 32 A Broken Frame - 48 Construction Time Again - 68 Some Great Reward - 92 The Singles 81-85 - 114 Black Celebration - 130 Music For The Masses - 152 Violator - 182 Songs Of Faith And Devotion - 204 Ultra - 224 Exciter - 252 Playing The Angel - 274 Interview With Daryl Bamonte - 290 Sounds Of The Universe - 292 Interview With Anne Haffmans - 316 Delta Machine - 322 Interview With Daniel Miller - 344 Spirit - 358 Fan Culture In The East And West Behind The Wall - 372 The Official Depeche Mode Fan Club - 398 Bootlegs - 404 Fan Exhibition 2013 - 406 Appendix Complete Tour Dates - 420 Bibliography - 431 Photo Credits / Acknowledgements - 432

A fantastic coffee table book
You know you're a fan when you're reading a book about Depeche Mode, and you get excited to see them mentioned in it. "Hey, Depeche Mode! Oh, wait..." This is a huge, comprehensive book detailing everything from the list of all of the band's tour dates ever to every cover ever created for every single ever created. There are plenty of photos of the guys to drool over, and there is a smattering of the band's history sprinkled throughout. Of course, a book this size you would think is mostly about the photos, and it certainly does not disappoint. Though, I could see how once you've gotten through it once, it would become more of a collectible than something you would want to revisit a lot. Still, this is a great book for any hardcore Depeche Mode fan.

Perfect gift for the discerning DM fan!!!
101 at the Rose Bowl was my first concert and I've seen them several times over the last few decades. There's a reason Depeche Mode is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame people! This book covers their history, collaboration with Anton Corbijn, impact on popular culture and all the ammunition you need to win any debate over being the biggest DM fan in your group of friends.
