Decided it was time to improve my pullups. I chose this one because of the length of the bar and I wasn't limited to a couple of hand-hold positions. I mounted this outside on my back porch to a 2x10 exposed beam. Instead of the included screws, which are heavy duty, I used 5/16-inch lag bolts to attach it to the beam. That worked great and is super sturdy, though using the included screws on an unexposed beam would have been fine too. This bar is really heavy duty and there is never a worry about whether it can hold the weight, especially with my lag-bolt installation. The finish is also excellent, and I have no worries about rust developing, even though it is exposed to outside moisture. If it ever did, a bit of sanding and repainting would suffice. The surface has a slight texture which makes the bar easy to grip. Once installed, I found that I couldn't do even one pullup. Not one! But, several times a day I would still give it a go, which I continue to do. After 5 weeks now I can do 4 good pullups!! So, I happy with the progress, and I have a target of 15 pullups by years end 9 months from now. I also use the bar for hanging: just grab on, hold and see how long I can last. Initially I could go about 30 seconds. Now I'm up to 75 seconds, so big improvement there, and I think that will increase too, it just takes consistent practice. I'm thinking of eventually getting another to put outside on my arbor where I could use it to work on muscle ups when the time comes.

Very easy install. Only complaint is that the screws that go into the ceiling are way too soft so they immediately started stripping when I tried to install with a regular screwdriver attachment on the drill. Definitely plan to install with a socket wrench attachment instead and it will be very sturdy! Literally today is the first day I've had it so no comments thus far on use other than the grip of the bare bar seems pretty good! Excited to use it and work on my pullups!

Sturdy and well-built, it includes top-notch hardware that works for different wall types (I usually discard the included hardware and use my own, but this stuff I kept). The finish offers excellent grip, just as you'd want from high-quality exercise equipment—definitely a great value.

This pull up bar is very well made and simple to install with some basic tools and knowledge. My suggestion is to have a second person to assist. A good product at a good value.

This pull-up bar is solid and made well! It’s adjustable to the height of your ceiling. Most likely you’ll have to put some solid wood to screw into it. You could cut a 2 x 8 piece of wood and screw it into your joist on the ceiling and then screw in the chin up bar, or you could put the support in the attic so cosmetically you don’t have anything extra on the ceiling. I chose to put the support in the attic in between the joist. It’s also great for stretching out your back, and getting it in alignment. I also like the variations of grips that you can do from all the options to hold your hands on, as well as the offset so you don’t hit your head or chin makes it just more economically comfortable.

Very well-made and sturdy. 4mm steel on the mounting plates, and the support triangles. Very clean welds all around — looks like they laser-welded it.

I wanted a pull up bar that I could attach to the main wooden beam in the basement. This one is simple in design but that's exactly what I was looking for. Some are less expensive but this one just seemed better made in the photos and I believe it is. The width of the bar is perfect. The diameter of the bar is slightly bigger than most dumbbells or barbells I use but that's all right. The welds are very well made with no skimping (the welds go all around the metal pieces). The powder coat finish is great as well although there is no knurling to help with grip. The mount and supplied screws work as they should and once installed, will hold a lot of weight with absolutely zero movement or creeking. The holes provided to put the included carabiners through are a great addition for those who want to use a strap system for additional exercises. All in all I think it's a great solid bar that is well worth the asking price. One word of advice: If you purchase this bar make sure you have enough clearance for your head when you pull to your chin or even higher to your upper chest. Since the bar is at the same level as the mounts, some might hit the ceiling with the top of their heads. Measure before. If you need more clearance, buy a bar that hangs BELOW the mounts like most of the other sold on Amazon.

Just look at the dimmensions and how you will fix it, for a good installation. If well installed, looks solid. And I am a big guy...
