Essex Studio Easel

Beautiful quality and well made. Extremely stable and easy to set up. As I sit down to work this was bought to replace an old and beloved drafting table. It is very comfortable to use and very versatile - easy to set up for maximum comfort. It can also be set up to use standing up. It is not a large easel, not too heavy to move easily and can be quickly folded flat to stand against a wall although you would need a large car boot if you wanted to transport it. I have not measured the biggest or smallest canvas it will hold. I attach small pieces of work to a large drawing board which is then placed on the easel. Can't say more than that apart from it is very highly recommended.

Can't say much more than the others, came fast, fully assembled, excellent quality. If your quite tall like me, probably more of a sitting easel, but that's what I wanted so I'm, thrilled. Wood actually does seem somewhat treated, but I suppose you can add to it, but if you paint like me, it'll be covered in splashes in no time. Much higher quality than picture shows, primary tightening levers are metal, and this is the most stable easel I have ever worked with, at any angle or any position, and I'm pretty heavy handed. At any price under £400 it's a steal! Oh, and great for all sized canvases, though I mostly use quite large, easily (pardon the pun) accommodates much smaller ones. Look no further, buy this one, and enjoy!

Anyone with half a brain can put the separate sections together, like the different options available, ie will take canvases or a drawing board for watercolours etc. Appears to be stable when set up properly, bigger in size than first thought - you need a fair bit of space to use the easel effectively. A good, ubiquitous support for creative activities.

Arrived 2 days after ordering. It came assembled & ready to use. Its very sturdy and holds my largest canvas with ease. Lovely finish which wipes clean. Folds completely flat for storage. The only problem was the packaging. When it arrived its feet were hanging out the bottom and they sustained a little damage. Fortunately this was easy to rectify and was easier than sending it back.

The easel was delivered much earlier than anticipated. I received a text message and email telling me when exactly it would be delivered and it arrived spot on the time they said it would.I looked through the reviews of many easels on the Amazon website before chosing this one and am very happy that I decided to purchase it. Solidly built with a very handy shelf that hinges in the middle and when clicked into place the shelf then helps to ensure the easel becomes a sturdy and perfect platform for painting. When not in use it folds flat against the wall for easy storage.

Item arrived in a torn and damaged box, luckily The easel inside did not appear damaged. However I have no idea if I have all the items to assemble the easel as there is no assembly instructions or list of parts included, which is a RIDICULOUS way to sell an easel with moving parts. I'm sure it it would not be too big a deal to include instructions.

It is a really good studio easel. it arrived in time. No assembly required. It is very steady and is made such a way, that you can paint your entire canvas up to the top and down to the bottom. It can be set up horizontally or vertically or anything in between, which is very convenient weather you need it for painting or varnishing. There is a little shelf which is handy. I would definitely recommend it.

This easel is very good value when bought it at a sale price. It's not quiet as big as I had thought but does the job perfectly and would be ideal if you want a very versatile studio easel that fits in a relatively small space and can easily fold up. It comes in two parts ready to assemble with the bolts supplied in a plastic bag. The finish is in natural beech wood and could do with a protective varnish or polish. I treated it with a natural wax which much improved the finish and made the canvas carrier slide easier. It's quiet stable and not too heavy to move. It can be used while sitting down or standing, just slide the canvas up or down the carrier. The canvas carrier will also tilt right over to horizontal making it ideal for water colour or varnishing where you need to keep the canvas flat. To sum up, it is nearly perfect but could do with some minor improvements.
