It worked!
The IR sensor I had in a very expensive bathroom mirror has stopped working and this is an easy and fairly cheap repair. The sensor was the same size, the transformer was smaller but space was not an issue. Not much more to say. It worked and has stayed working since installed. It is out of sight, the product does not feel or look like junk. Expensive I am sure to buy in 1's but as a repair for something of higher value this makes sense.

Bringing magic touch to old equipment..
I was refitting my bathroom and I loath throwing stuff away when its perfectly serviceable. So like the bathroom mirror unit with back lighting, it had a little pull cord and filament lamps, but the mirror was in good overall condition, I replaced the little pull cord with this sensor switch, which works a treat! I also replaced the filament lamps with LED, which for the overall cost I couldnt have bought a mirror thats touch free and modern feeling.

It worked really well
It fitted the purpose even though it was not an exact replacement.

I buy loads
I use these to build under cupboard kitchen/worktop working lights for clients.I've probably brought 40(ish) now and not had any problems.Very sensitive at short range and ideal for swipe on/off control.I just CAREFULLY drill a blanking plate and use a 16mm backbox.Much cheaper than buying a dedicated control switch.Very happy.

Really effective and reasonably priced
Used with LED under-cabinet strip lights in the kitchen, I bought a second after the success of the first. Works a treat and very easy to install - would be useful if it was supplied with a multipurpose fixing bracket though. The missus loves them - she just waves her hand under the cupboard and hey presto the lights come on.

Possibly a light dependant IR switch?
Ordered this item to replace a current defective IR switch in my existing wall mirror light!Installed it with the mirror light not attached to the wall.....this new unit worked ok!Put the mirror light back up onto the wall .....IR switch didn't work...so I thought maybe a bad connection/ cable slipped out when I was putting the rear cover back on the mirror light. So...took off the mirror light again, checked all connections - all was ok. Turned the power back on - this IR switch was working again - so I re-mounted the mirror light & tried again....IR switch still didn't work again!!My mirror light is installed approx. 5" from a corner of a wall (same side as IR switch) - my conclusion was that this IR sensor is partially light dependant. If it is too dark, the IR sensor will not work.I ended up re-attaching my old IR sensor only, to the new power supply - this worked OK!This was frustrating & not a good scenario especially as the mirror light was quite heavy & awkward - so please be wary if your IR switch you are installing is facing close to an adjacent wall, that this switch may not work!
