Inconsistent
I never write reviews but i am so frustrated with this thing! There are no instructions so had to watch some videos on YouTube. Did lots of samples before using it for my project and all seemed fine, checked the ratio to make sure that once I started my project all of the pieces would fit together etc. Started my project using the exact settings that I tested on my samples and the ruffles came out far too long! Thought maybe I did something wrong so did some more sampling then went back to my project, same problem! Seems it can't handle anything more than a sample. Also... it damages the fabric when setting up to sew. Don't waste your time or money. Now I have a massive petticoat with pieces that are too big and damaged fabric!

Works fine, but oddly not quite as well as the antique version which I use on my old Singer treadle from 1911 - which also fits on my modern Janome. Lesson learned there, but it's still a good buy. Takes a bit of experimenting with the different settings to get the ruffles or pleats you are after and certainly less tedious that endlessly pulling up loose bobbin threads or whatever.

Good value
Very happy with this attachment, it works as it should, and attached easily. If you are new to sewing, it has limited instructions, but pretty straightforward operation. Note- this is not the same as a gathering foot, it makes measured "pleats". The stitching looks professional and well made.
