Cat Mate Glass Fitting Cat Flap for Small to Average-Sized Cats, White

I had this fitted into a double glazed unit on my conservatory door. The glass fitter was impressed with how well it worked and seemed to think it was well designed. It took some patience and practice for my cat to get the hang of it. The magnet to keep it closed against draughts means it needs a fairly firm push for Troy to open it. The flap has kept out the autumn storms successfully. I haven't tried locking it to keep Troy in, so can't comment on whether he could break it open if he wanted.I started by fixing it wide open with string sellotaped to the flap and tied to the door handle. He could come and go freely through the hole and got used to the idea of going through so he could play outside. After a week, I cut some light, clear film into strips and taped them above the hole, so he had to brush through them to pass through. It got him used to the sensation of touch and making a (very minor) effort to get though. Soom after, I fixed the flap open at less of an angle, so he had to start pushing against it a little. It was summer, so I could leave the flap open OK, and Troy was keen to get outside. After a month or so of gradual adjustments, he was using the flap in the normal way, though if he saw me inside and wanted to come in, he would pretend it was too hard to open, and try to convince me to open the door for him.After nearly 6 months, it's still lovely to hear the flap thump and to know that Troy can entertain himself in my little enclosed garden whenever he wants, no matter that time of night it is.

Most cats regard the cat flap with contempt and disdain. It's the tradesmen's entrance of the feline world. Their preference is for us to hold the front door open while they deliberate whether to stay in or go out. If it's IN, you'll be expected to show your gratitude for the pleasure of their company with a treat; if it's OUT, then the chances are he or she will be howling to be let back in within two minutes and again expect a treat. It's got a 4-way locking system - ideal for keeping out the neighbourhood cat and keeping yours safe at night - which is brilliant.Easy to install but word of caution: you need to have a circular hole professionally cut into the glass; also best installed with two people either side of the door (just one not two each side!) to position the screws as they need to be carefully aligned. Husband and I managed it and it's slightly out of kilter but the cats don't mind.PS: I hadn't hear of Rosewood before, but the cat flap I bought was an exact replacement for my CatMate that had lasted 10 years. The In/Out switches worked differently but not a problem.Great product, easy to fit, terrific value and amazing delivery service yet again from Amazon. Already had one of these but needed replacing (after many years of service!). Same make, different box but product exact match for what we had . Found screws didn’t fit that well but has stayed in place. Looks much nicer now than old one.

No problem whatsover with the flap and installation, it was exactly what we expected. We do have a problem with the cat though.After 18 years of complaining about a door, the forced time at home this year led us to order a new one. The door has a big glass panel which we ordered complete with a hole for the cat flap (be warned if you take this route, the hole will cost nearly as much as the glass!). The idea was to let light in the house and the cat in and out.Door arrived, we installed the cat flap, feeling really pleased with ourselves that the job that had been outstanding for 18 years was finally done. But, he cat refuses to use the flap. We're not sure whether it's the fact it's in a glass door or if it's the magnet on the flap that puts her off. Maybe she just doesn't like change. Either way she's having accidents in the house and sits and waits until a passing human opens the door for her.No amount of coaxing or tempting her will encourage her to use it. She's even glaring at me as I type this!

Next day delivery. Well packaged. Leaflet showing assembly and diameter of hole, come with screws and spacers.

I had to get the circle (hole for the actual cat flat made at the same time as the pane of glass as this was to replace a solid plastic panel door, the cat flap just fit right over perfectly. I will add some pictures soon, it’s easy for the cat to use, easy to lock and unlock too.

Great product, easy to lock and looks good too. Be aware I had to have a new glass door panel as they cut it before fitting the cat flap, they couldn’t cut the hole in the existing glass door. Good job the cat flap itself isn’t expensive.

This is the right cat flap if you have a double glazed glass door. I tried some others first but they didn't fit. One of my cats is quite large and manages fine.

一人暮らしで平日は窓を開けられず、夏になって猫がかわいそうなので購入しました。買ってから近所のガラス屋さんで時間をかけて考えてもらい、やっとサッシにつけてもらいました。しばらくは猫が怖がって出入りが出来ず、やっぱりだめかなと思いましたが、1か月位かけてやっと覚えてくれました。暑い時期は猫が自由に出入りしてくれて、良かったです。

Con l'arrivo della gatta in appartamento, abbiamo pensato di posizionare una gattaiola per l'accesso al balcone, dove sistemare anche la lettiera. Abbiamo preferito forare il muro piuttosto che manomettere il triplovetro termico della porta-finestra, per una serie di vantaggi: chiudere la tapparella senza eliminare il passaggio per la gatta, maggiore sicurezza e facilità nel rimuoverla (se, un domani, non dovesse più servire). Muro di cemento armato, dunque necessario l'intervento del muratore con apposito attrezzo (costo 300€). Di conseguenza abbiamo optato per una gattaiola tonda, che si adatta a questo tipo di foro circolare.Ne abbiamo prese due, per posizionare la porta basculante su entrambi i lati, in entrata e in uscita, per una migliore tenuta termica. Gli sportelli si richiudono bene dopo il passaggio, senza spifferi. Un po' caro ma sicuramente funzionale. Ha giovato sicuramente alla convivenza reciproca tra noi e la gatta.

Harika bir ürün. Oldukça kaliteli bir malzemesi var. Hiç hava geçirmiyor. Kedim bir günde alıştı.
