Right tool for the job
This is one of those occasions where having the right tool for the job is a must. Now I'm not saying you cannot do a brake pad change without this tool because I'm sure that there are people who do or have created their own version of a caliper piston rewind tool. Professionals will undoubtedly have a kit with all the variants for different vehicles. I just needed one to replace the rear pads on my VAG vehicle. There are a loads of different types so make sure you get the right one.Did it do the job? Yes. Was it easy to use? A bit fiddly but OK. Is it well made? Yes, very solid item. Was it worth the money? Oh yes. Any tips? Make sure you experiment with the position of the reaction plate and always get the tool square before you start winding. Any tricks? Clamp the flexi hose (with a proper hose clamp) and release the bleed nipple (with a bleed tube fitted into a container) as you wind the piston in. Save you bleeding out afterwards. Also, run a smear of silicone grease around and under the lip of the piston rubber boot before you wind in case it sticks and tears the boot.

Fitted vauxhall astra H
£22 at time of purchase. Used on a vauxhall Astra van H. Worked well, easy to use. Lack of instructions but self explanatory. 1 star deducted for turning bar length, its a little too short which makes it more difficult to turn, other then that fine. Tip: make sure pistons rubber boot is not in the way of the tool otherwise it might tear. Its an easy job.

Rear disc brake tool
This tool is a must to change rear brake pads on various cars. It will stop you damaging the piston and gaiter that protects it from water ingress. A very good price for a good quality tool. As a tool maker I could not make it for the price. Easy to use for anyone who has a little engineering knowhow.Do not try to change the rear pads without the tool unless you know what you are doing ... it can become very expensive to replace the whole caliper if you fail. Also a small nick in the gaiter means water ingress resulting in the piston of the caliper rusting up and a seize up of the caliper in due time with the result of no rear brakes on that wheel and the need to replace all the caliper unit. ( MOT will fail!!)A good buy and highly recommended for the above reason.. trust me I have changed many brake pads on a variety of cars without the tool... it takes a lot longer to do the job and is risky.

It fits an ASTRA!!!
This is a great product very well made and did the job, great!I worked using the Haynes manual, and it stated I could use 'Needle Nose or Circlip Pliers' to turn the piston back into the caliper.........hmm this might be possible but it would have taken me all day, and if I slipped I would have possibly ripped through my hand or the rubber boot (meaning caliper strip down and refurb) I did try but it was painful, and slow.This tool, priced at nearly double the price in Halfrauds worked a treat and I did it in minutes (both sides).It doesn't state Vauxhall on the back of the packet but I promise it WILL FIT a Vauxhall Astra MK5 CDTi 1.9 2005 150bhp 110kw model.......and I would think it will fit all MK5 Astra's and possibly more Vauxhall's!A great addition to my toolkit!Thanks Laser, you literally saved my skin

Disappointed it doesn't fit my Mazda 3 as claimed
I am very disappointed with this product even though the build and guilty of the tool are excellent I never got a chance to use it so I can't say if it does what it says or not. Because neither side #1 or side #2 of the head supplied fitted my 06 Mazda 3 Hatchback brake pistons. Even though Laser claims the tool to fit all Mazda models on the packaging. For that reason I'm giving it a 3 star rating for build and quality only.

Vauhall Astra - Laser 1314 Brake Caliper rewind tool
After failing to rewind and push the rear disc brake cylinders in by hand I decided to buy the right tool for the job. Although the list of cars that this fits does not specifically say "Vauxhall" it fitted perfectly and did in seconds what I'd not managed to do after struggling with circlip pliers and levers for almost an hour before giving up. The tool is very well made and will last a lifetime as there is nothing to go wrong. It's got a reversible socket on the end so will fit almost any make of car. Halfords sell exactly the same tool for almost twice the price you'll pay on Amazon and it was delivered the day after I ordered using the free delivery option. A very pleasing purchase.

Easy as Pie to User
Cheap and easy to use. Couldn't have completed a rear brake service on a 2002 Passat without it. Made the job so easy compared to the skinned knuckles and frustration of trying to do this with other tools.The Passat piston winds back into the calipers so cannot be simply pushed back like the front pistons, with a C clamp or similar. With all the road grime and gunk around the rear piston added to the fact it needs to be 'wound' back not 'pushed' back. If you have a slightly sticky rear piston, then you'll never get it back without this tool. It's so cheap and its something you only need to buy once.

Simple and effective
Heavier and more sturdy than it looks, this is a quality tool for a great price. For those cars with disk brakes and hand-brake combined on the rear axle, the brake piston is threaded and must be screwed back in to make space to fit new brake pads. The thread is stiff, and close to impossible (hours of cursing and struggling) to twist and press at the same time. This tool makes that process a doddle, and let me replace the pads on my Ford S-Max with ease.

util retraer pistones de freno
Tengo que decir que para mi Renualt scenic III privilege (freno trasero parking eléctrico) me sirvió perfectamente tanto para pistones delanteros como traseros. Sin este útil me hubiera costado un gran esfuerzo realizar la labor que de esta forma realice en poco tiempo y muy poco esfuerzo. Realmente por el ajustado precio no esperé la calidad ofrecida del producto. Totalmente aconsejable eso sí, concretamente para mi modelo de vehículo, tuve que adquirir un adaptador especifico que encajaba perfectamente en el cuadradillo del útil.

Herramienta muy sencilla de buena calidad para hacer uno mismo el cambio de pastillas de freno.Me ha venido muy bien porque en mi modelo de coche no se pueden cambiar sin una herramienta de éste tipo o es muy complicado.
