Pootack IR Repeater - Infrared Remote Extender with 1 Receiver and 1 Emitter, Hidden IR System for Amplifier, Cable Box, Stereo Receiver, Satellite, DVD, Blu-ray Players

The IR repeater arrived in good time, and at first, (as an engineer) I was a little concerned if such a low cost item would work. Fear not, this device is excellent. I have tested it with 4 IR devices, all being controlled perfectly without glitches (I might add not all at the same time). The device takes USB power (which is now available in 13A extension sockets), and the leads are both long enough to reach my device to control (DVD), and the remote point. We have an outside gazebo pilates and pool area, equipped with sound system/outdoor TV screen, and I wanted to control the DVD player located with the 'core equipment rack' inside our garden changing room. It does this effortlessly, and the range (even outdoors) is impressive. We have Pilates sessions within the gazebo area, and without this device, I would be running in and out of the changing room adjusting sound levels, channels, DVD selection etc, so in my opinion, its worth every penny. Alice @ Pootack was business minded enough to very politely ask me to give honest feedback... so I have!

This is the first IR repeater I have used and my inexperience shone through. The first day with this product was very disappointing. It looked like my new TV cabinet was going to stop my digi TV box from working and this device would not work. I then realised that what I thought was the underside of the transmitter, was actually where the IR was transmitted from and needed to placed on the device's IR receiver. After figuring out this bit, it has worked flawlessly. The signal transmitted is clearly not capable of travelling and pointing it at the device from a few inches will not work, it has to be stuck on the device. Some instructions in the bos about this would have been very useful, otherwise very good.

Installed with no problems. As others have commented, the permanent red light is a bit annoying but other than that I am very pleased with it.

Having fitted a floating TV wall unit to house the usual kit and hide all the cables, the claim by a Comms provider, that their equipment didn’t need direct visual access to work by remote, turned out to be false.These remote extensions work a treat & mean that the cupboards can remain opaque and closed now! Easy to install and work perfectly!I bought two, which work with different remotes without a problem; they also seem to have great coverage in the room, which makes positioning them discreetly, much more flexible.Super product, great value and will be buying more in the near future!

Worked well for 24hrs and then completely stopped the remote control from communicating with VirginTV box.The seller contacted me, prior to me contacting them, asking if it worked or not. This indicates a lot of them are faulty. They also asked me for my phone number, in order to send me a replacement. Dodgy.

Plugged it in and it worked immediately. I tried various positions in the cupboard until I found a convenient location just in front, and to the side, of my DVR and stick it in place. My remote now connects better than when the DVR was sat out in the open.

Works exactly as planned. Good length of cable, and easy to power from the USB port of a device in my cabinet. Successfully controls my Smasung blue ray player (UBD K8500) and a Sky Q mini box. Just placed the small mini transmitter in the front of the cabinet (close to front edge of player and sky box). Only minor annoyance is the red LED in the receiver. But you can gently prose the lid off and then either tape over the LED (as I did) or presumably pull the LED out. Recommended.

Works OK, but range is about 3 meters & red light is irritating. Range is much better after I removed the transparent red cover which is way too bulky anyway.

Funciona perfecto con el descodificador GT Media v9. Al principio no me funcionaba pero situando el infrarojo pequeño justo delante y cerca del deco, funciona sin problema!

I nuovi televisori Samsung hanno una connect box che solitamente sta all'interno di un mobile.Se si usa una Soundbar (Sonos o anche altre) c'è la forte possibilità che quest'ultima vada comandata via infrarosso.Il telecomando Samsung è molto bello, ma non emette IR ma solo RF. La connect box invece emette IR e va quindi utilizzata con questo cavo.Il funzionamento è stato immediato, fa bene il suo mestiere. Attenzione che io lo utilizzo in modo diverso rispetto al normale utilizzo: il ricevitore è all'interno del box e l'emettitore vicino alla soundbar, per cui non mi da fastidio la luce rotta del ricevitore che invece se posta all'esterno potrebbe disturbare.

Der Repeater ist jetzt seit ca. 3 Wochen im Einsatz. Er wird benutzt um einen KD/Vodafon Kabelreceiver zu bedienen.Das TV Gerät hängt an der Wand und in einen schlanken Kabelkanal nach unten sind alle Leitungen versteckt. Den Empfänger habe ich direkt unter das TV auf den Deckel vom Kabelkanal geklebt. Den IR Sender habe ich unter dem Receiver durchgezogen und einfach einige cm vor dem Receiver lose liegengelassen. Strom bekommt das Ganze aus dem USB-Port des Receivers. Bei einem Preis von etwas über 7 € bin ich zunächst sehr skeptisch gewesen. Aber völlig zu unrecht. Das kleine Ding tut einfach was es soll, und das sehr zuverlässig.Von mir volle 5 Sterne eine klare Kaufempfehlung.Wie ich finde ist das ein sensationelles Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.Update: 30.11.2017 Der Repeater arbeitet immer noch zur vollsten Zufriedenheit.Selbst die manchmal schräg einfallende Nachmittagssonne hat ihn nicht beeindruckt, er funktioniert einfach nur.Mit dem Teil kann man eigentlich gar nichts falsch machen.

Fonctionne parfaitement , conforme , une alimentation USB qui vient de l'appareil piloté ( il faut alors que l'usb soit alimenté) ou à alimenter avec un chargeur USB classique sur prise de courant . Juste un peu sensible si l'éclairage de la pièce se fait avec des ampoules fluocompacte le signal est moins bien pris en charge . Seul bémol ,UPS ,(le service de livraison ) me demande d'être présent pour la livraison avec signature et paquet mis dans la boite au lettre à 16h sans avoir besoin de signer (toute une journée à attendre pour rien !! grrr!)
