OMG
Purchased this after reading the reviews, one said just buy it so here we are, easy to assemble, as reviews have mentioned the grass basket isn’t really adequate, it needs to be the size of a skip especially if your lawns never been scarified, I just put a stick across to hold the basket cover up more to allow the thatch to be thrown back better, then it’s the back breaking task of raking it all up. Lightweight and so easy to manoeuvre, there’s four settings, we used number two as suggested in another review, if your lawns never been done before be prepared for plenty of thatch and I mean plenty! I got half a dozen large heavy duty soil bags to use as our council waste bin was full in five minutes. There are products out there like mo bacter that supposedly eliminate the need to scarify but results aren’t instant, maybe worth considering. Overall I’m more than happy with our purchase, just needed to be 40 years younger :-)

Powerful lawn scarifier that does the job
Very powerful lawn scarifier / aerator, removes large quantities of thatch even at the highest setting from the ground.Which does mean that you need to continually open the lid and compress the contents, otherwise it ends up being spread over the lawn again. It may be a 55L box, but any more than half full and again, it leaks out. I suspect this is more of a problem during the first few uses, when there is a lot of material to be raked, but it is worth pointing out that you will spend quite a lot of time compressing and emptying the collection box, at least at first. The tool itself is relatively light, but not flimsy by any means and swapping the aerator/scarifier rollers is very simple. Initial construction is more fiddly, the instructions are a bit vague at times and they've clearly been translated from another language, but overall it isn't overly difficult.Storage is a bit more of a pain, unless you undo all of the quick release handles the tool takes up a lot of space if kept on the ground, so it either needs to be hung up, or you have to fiddle with the handle segments each time you get it out - unless of course you are lucky enough that floorspace isn't an issue for you.Overall, a good tool, perhaps a little on the pricey side for the type of machine, but the build quality appears sound and we'll know in a few years if that made it good value or not.

Strong and sturdy
Strong and sturdy, works well, handy to have option to purchase a new scarifier springs roller, although would be good to be able to replace springs only.

Indispensable for anyone with a large lawn
So, this is one powerful lightweight beast indeed. We have an enormous lawn at something like 425 M², and as I am 6’ 4” tall, with a back that has been slightly problematic through the years, the idea of using a lawn rake to remove the many years of compressed thatch and weeds etc was a non-starter.This particular model arrives in a small box and the instructions are relatively simple to follow and put together. If I’m honest I actually tried to put it together without reading the instructions and made a complete hash of it, so lesson learned there then.Once I'd got it ready to go there are various settings and I put it on the lightest setting (I.E the highest setting) to start with and off I set and within a few short minutes I was absolutely stunned by the sheer quantity of thatch and weeds and debris that it was raking up from my lawn, but remember, this is what it's supposed to do!Now the thing to do is to actually read up on how to scarify a lawn properly and from just about every source that I read most people are astounded by just how much thatch and weeds etc something like this machine will produce it really is amazing quantities. When you finish doing your lawn you will probably wonder what the hell you've done and your lawn will almost certainly resemble Passchendaele circa 1918, but don't dismay at this and this is entirely normal and there are some good videos on some proprietary video based websites that show you exactly what scarifying a lawn does.Back to the machine, the blades are interchangeable, and it is very easy to change and it appears to be well made and capable of doing the job the only interesting byproduct of this is the fact that you will empty the collection bag on an incredibly regular basis if you haven't scarified your lawn for many years as I hadn’t. That said, I haven't pulled my back and I'm not in pain as I would be if I'd have been using a lawn rake. In short, indispensable unless you have endless time and a back of steel.

Scarifier works well
Some assembly required, in fact quite a bit. No matter, the scarifier works very well on heavily thatched lawn. It produced copious amounts of stuff for the compost heap. The aerator, I have not used it as I have very heavy clay soil.
