Sennheiser Game One Open Acoustic Gaming Headset - Black

My Sennheiser PC363s broke after 6 years after pretty much daily use so I needed new set. I tried a Razer Blackshark 2 and a SteelSeries Arctis 7, both for around a week before settling on these Sennheiser Game One headsets.The sound quality is superior to either of these to my ears, even with this being an open design. The sound is not as "tinny" as those other 2 headsets and seems both more natural and more detailed to me; the Sennheiser are better than the Razer and SteelSeries for gaming and way better for music. I think the sound is probably even better than my old Sennheiser PC363s that cost twice as much.The "lift up to mute" mic is surprisingly handy, firstly it is obvious when you are muted and are you are live, secondly you can get it out of the way when not talking - or when eating a snack. Recorded sound quality on the mic seems clear with no glaring problems. Volume control on the ear is convenient. This headset can go surprisingly loud if you really want to rock out.Windows recognised the headset with no issues and no “extras” need to be installed – looking at you Razer.I have a large sized head and this head set is snug but comfy. The open back design helps with keeping your ears cool. The fabric ear pads are OK but I find they can soak up sweat during very hot summer months and then are a bit unpleasant. I will be swapping these out for some Geekria Comfort Velour Replacement Ear Pads as soon as I can, I had these on my old PC363s as replacements and they are great.The Game One has a 3.5mm jack but I found it worked fine with the USB adaptor that came with the PC363, I assume any such adaptor would work if you needed a USB headset.

Pros:- SENNHEISER. Can only speak of it in superlatives in every aspect.Cons:- Had to nitpick, but the volume wheel's placement and turn resistance is a bit counterintuitive.Probable cons for some:- A little rough padding finish if you have a sensitive skin- Close to zero noise isolation- Undetatchable mic- High impedance means it will sound a bit worse when plugged into low-power sockets like smartphonesIn the first two cases, I suggest you grab a pair of the G4ME ZEROs which are completely noise isolating and the pads have a leatherette finish.Good for:- games- musicDecent for:- movies with HD Surround audioBad for:- social lifeAs a long-time Sennheiser user who was always fond of the company's ear-canal phones, I was looking to grab a pair of these cans ever since they were announced, and boy the wait was worth it! They sound great even with a mediocre-ish motherboard (Gigabyte H110M), although the EQ needs some touches here and there - of course everyone has their own preferred sound.The only department where this headset is not top of the line (only way above average) is when it comes to movies with HD Surround Sound, but everywhere else, it is great.For music, the sound fidelity is absolutely brilliant, I would have discovered some new instruments in my favourite songs if I wasn't using their in-ears for the past 15 years.But since this is a gaming headset by design, let's take a look on how it feels in games:Given its open-back design, the soundstage simply goes beyond anything I got used to with my closed-cup headsets so far, but - according to my girlfriend - the sound leak is minimal. The positional audio is so amazingly precise that I could tell that the enemy Tracer was moving eratically a level above me to the point where I could figure out her movement pattern even before I could see her. It really gives you so much new information when compared to the USB gaming headsets that it's almost disgusting.For comms, the mic is really delivering quality. My friends told me they heard me as if were standing right next to them, but for this a high quality encoded TeamSpeak room is kind of a must :D The pick-up pattern is a hundred percent noise cancelling, so now I can go voice activated without people having to listen to my keyboard, and the flip-to-mute is also a welcome feature.The only thing I didn't grew to like though, is the volume wheel on the right cup. At least for me it's highly counterintuitive that it's placed on the right cup while gaming, but only because I find WASD easier than my mouse. Anyways I simply programmed volume adjustment to my sidescroll buttons on all my game profiles after dropping my G633s in favour of this piece of art. Another con is that the wheel itself has very little resistance physically so it's more difficult to make precise adjustments with them.The headset comes with a Y-jack cable as a default, but Sennheiser thought of notebook users and threw a combined jack cable into the box, so there is no side purchase required.Hardwarewise the build quality is excellent, but the velvet padding covers might be a bit too rough for some when compared to the HyperX Cloud II for instance, but this is not a major issue unless you have VERY sensitive skin. The band clamps to your head firmly but stable, and the velvet finish on the pads give them an extra bit of stability due to their friction. The cups are slightly tilted vertically towards the back axis to provide ergonomical perfection for a wide array of ear sizes and shapes, and the adjustable headband is more than enough to be put onto my ginormous head bestowed upon me by genetics.Due to its open design, you can hear almost everything around you, so if you have loud roommates, you'll be better off with the GAME ZERO, which boasts professional level noise isolation. The sound leaking from the headset into the mic is technically nonexistent even if you're blasting music, and the braided cable makes almost no contact noise when brushing against your clothes.The black is looking superamazing, but imo the white looks even better though my girlfriend told me she'd boot me from the apartment if I bought the white ones :(

This is my first ever headset so I did research for a whole week and finally settled on these due to good reviews and Sennheiser's good reputation.I love the build quality, it is plastic but it feels sturdy and thick. Not thin and flimsy at all. The padding on the headband and earcups is super comfortable and super soft which I like. The fit is tight, so it makes a good tight seal around your ears. I had borrowed my brother's cheap headset before and it would droop and wiggle around all the time - super annoying. You don't get that with this at all. Some people may find it too tight and uncomfortable but it works great for me.The material of the padding is a dust magnet and if you're like me and like to keep your tech clean, a lint roller does the trick.I'm not an audiophile so I think the sound quality of these are really good. Good bass and while testing Razer Surround Sound with these I was blown away by the quality.The default settings for the mic make you sound VERY low. I tested the mic with friends, different applications and even recorded myself. The sound is crisp and clear, but it sounds like I'm whispering. I had to fiddle around with mic settings A LOT before my amatour self (and Google can take some credit too) finally figured out how to get the mic to sound like I wasn't whispering. I had to go into mic settings in Windows and boost the dB on the mic to +10.00. I feel like I shouldn't have had to do that, at all.Now whether this is the case for all mics, or not I don't know. I am still very new to this and I am still learning. It could have been a software issue, mic, or both.Now that people can actually hear me properly, I get nothing but compliments on how clear I sound.I have now bought these as well to keep my headphones in a safe placeBrainwavz Hengja - The Headphone Desk Hanger

I broke the band of my much cheaper Plantronics 780 headphones (were about £40 when I bought them) and figured I'd get a nicer pair this time as the Plantronics weren't very comfy after long sessions (2 hours+) and the sound quality wasn't fabulous, and since I have what I think is a half decent sound card (Xonar DX) I might aswell get an analogue set.Apart from getting the sleeve off the box, removing the packaging was drama free. I tried the headphones on and found them comfy, but in my experience it's only after long periods do you find that headphones are uncomfy.They feel a little heavy on the top band, but I suppose this is for a reason.The sound quality is good, maybe my sound card isn't *that* good but I remember paying £50-70 for it a few years ago, can't remember exactly how much but the sound just felt normal. Didn't notice an improvement over my speakers (Corsair SP2500) but I certainly couldn't find anything to complain about either. One caveat to my comments here is that I tried a 20hz test tone on Youtube and could hear it fine with the headphones, however it was too low for my Sp2500 subwoofer (a measley 8" cone) to reproduce, so you can be safe in the knowledge that these headphones are going to reproduce sound as it's output by the computer.After a week of ownership and having done a few long gaming stints (circa 5 hours at times) I can't fault the headphones. They are very comfy and don't impact on my ears at all. The microphone mute function (fold it up to mute) has a satisfying click to engage it and is very handy.I'd expect all of these features for the price, and honestly- £144 (what I paid) is a lot of money. But then I've spent 20x that on the rest of my setup so just figured going budget seems a bit pointless at this stage. I'm hoping this headset will last me many years, and I don't see any reason to upgrade from these (not sure what there is to upgrade to in all honesty either), I'm just giving it 4 stars instead of 5 as I'm just surprised you have to spend this much to get this headset.

First thing's first: I LOVE these! I think they're that good that when I've been at work during the day, I've been daydreaming of wearing them in the evening! Why? See below.I recently upgraded from my PC350 headset, also by Sennheiser, which were purchased somewhere around 2008, give or take a year or two. It's that long ago I don't remember. Anyway, they were falling apart and I decided it was time to upgrade. Now, the PC350s had great reviews at the time, but I always found that they were rather tight in their fit - both around the ears individually, and gripping around the head. I'd find them comfortable for around two hours before needing to adjust them or just have a break. In the last year or so, this became worse with age. After much research, I decided to try these - but I was sceptical. Sceptical because these looked like the same shape and size as the 350s, and I didn't want the same thing to happen. Especially with the the market growing immensely with the likes of Steelseries Siberia Elite (and the Prism upgrade), Astro A40/50s and so on. I really wanted to try the open cup, because I found the closed unnecessary whilst at home, as well as too warm. Alas, when I received these and opened the box; I was not disappointed. The quality oozes from the headset itself. When inspecting the ear cups closely, you'll notice they have a slight red tint to them, and that the velvet feels incredible. When I tried them on, I was genuinely surprised by how different they felt to the 350 model - they felt like they were from a completely different manufacturer! Since then, I've been wearing them for hours upon hours each day with no signs of discomfort AT ALL - around my ears or my head. They feel incredible. It's like a cloud cushioning your head. Believe me when I say they are seriously comfy!As for the sound, I've been using them hooked up to the 350 soundcard (due to convenience of switching from speakers to headset), and it works really well! They have quite a bit more bass in comparison to the 350s, and I had to tone down the settings on the card to compensate for it. I certainly didn't find them lacking at all. I hear a lot more effects in my games and music, although I haven't tested them on a dedicated MP3 player or stereo, for example. I also have yet to test them on an FPS for positional audio, but judging by previous reviews all over the internet, I'm not worried. As for the microphone; my friends told me it was like I was on the radio - brilliant clarity and volume. This is in comparison to both the 350s, and my Logitech C920 webcam mic.I'm seriously looking forward to using these every day, and I can't help but feel proud of my purchase. I'd certainly recommend these to anybody looking for a gaming headset on the PC, with the potential for other platforms. They're definitely worth the money.

Bought this headset as a replacement for my old Logitech G35's which unfortunately fell apart.. Literally.It's safe to say that this is by far the best headset I've ever purchased. I have it coupled with an ROG Xonar Phoebus sound card and the sound quality is unparalleled, it's absolutely fantastic. I'm no audio tech but I can honestly say games, movies and music all sound truly fantastic with this headset.One thing you should make yourself aware of is that this IS an analogue headset (2x3.5mm jacks) and it is also open cup so you can clearly hear everything going on around you when there's low volume sounds. I personally don't mind this but if you're looking for a good seal where you can't hear anything else other than your entertainment, then this headset just simply won't be for you. For those of you who are like me and do not mind hearing things that are going on around you, then get this headset. It's worth every single penny you spend on it.The microphone quality is absolutely fantastic too, from the comments I've received thus far I can tell you the mic quality is crystal clear and cancels out background noise very well. On a side note, the earcups fit perfectly around your ears. They're rather large which is great for me as I've quite a large noggin' and ears, this thing just fits snugly. It's extremely light so you can barely notice that it's even on your head. Build quality is utterly amazing too, it feels genuinely solid and as if it will stand the test of time quite nicely.TL;DR, get it.

I Love Sennheiser, have bought their headsets for years, great sound. Unfortunately, as the years role on their sturdiness declines massively. I have spent the best part of £600 on "gaming" headsets over the past 4 years, for all of them to die in one way shape or form. This always happens literally after you get close too or past the 2 year mark. save your money or spend it somewhere else. Im done with this headset. BS

Been using this as my main headset for almost 3 years now, and it checks all the right boxes. Comfortable, durable, very good sound quality, decent mic.I've tried cheaper gaming headsets before and all of them had an insanely boosted bass to try and cover up the poor sound quality, none of that here, a nice balanced high quality sound.If I was to nitpick id say the mic is on the quiet side, I don't talk that loud so have to give it a 20db boost in windows but that's a minor issue.Not sure why noise cancelation is even an option on the review, these are open backed so you get a better sound quality but have 0 sound isolation and you can hear everything around you, if you want noise cancellation get the closed back version.

Ich habe einige Headsets durchprobiert, wie z.B. das Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X oder auch selber gebastelte mit DT 880 und DT 990. Entweder der Tragekomfort hat nicht gepasst oder bei S-Lauten ist der Ton zumindest für mich richtig zischelnd und unangenehm geworden. Ich habe auch das Sennheiser GSP 500 getestet und habe den hohen Anpressdruck auf den Ohren nicht ausgehalten. Vorweg: Wer ein geschlossenes Headset möchte, dem würde ich das MMX 300 (2. Gen) von beyerdynamic empfehlen. Aber ich möchte mich beim Sprechen selber hören und bevorzuge daher ein offenes Headset./////////////// Erster Eindruck ///////////////Der erste Eindruck ist, dass die Verpackung hochwertig ist und alles schön sauber verpackt ist. Der zweite ist, dass das Headset etwas komisch aussieht, da der Kopfbügel im Vergleich zu den Hörern nach vorne geneigt ist. Beim Aufsetzen war ich etwas irritiert, da sie sich anders anfühlten als ich es gewohnt bin und eine andere Passform beim Kopfbügel haben. Ich hätte es schon fast abgeschrieben, hab es aber dann doch ein bisschen testen wollen.Etwas schwach finde ich die Plastikkontruktion, die ab und zu beim Aufsetzen knarzt. Allerdings tut er das nicht beim Verwenden sondern nur wenn man das Headset beim Aufsetzen etwas nach außen spannt./////////////// Zubehör ///////////////Mit dabei ist ein 2,5 mm-Klinke-auf-2x 3,5 mm-Klinke-Kabel für PC-Soundkarten und einmal ein Kabel auf einen TRRS-Stecker für Konsolen oder Handys. Interessant finde ich, dass Sennheiser einen 2,5 mm-Stecker beim Headset selbst verwendet, aber das ist vermutlich wegen Platzgründen. Das Kabel kann man tauschen, was definitiv ein Plus ist, ein eigenes Nicht-Sennheiser zu kaufen wird aber glaub ich nicht funktionieren, da der Stecker noch eine Hülle herum hat./////////////// Klang ///////////////Der Klang ist erstaunlicherweise sehr neutral. Ich habe mir auf Rtings den Frequenzgang angesehen und muss sagen, dass der Klang sehr ausgewogen ist. Die Mitten sind klar und die Höhen komplett neutral. Sonst bin ich es gewohnt, dass die Höhen angehoben werden um Schritte im Spiel besser hören zu können und das führt meist zu einem S-Zischeln. Klanglich ist es besser als mein altes QPad QH-85 und sogar für Musik gut zu gebrauchen. Lediglich im Bassbereich gibt es, wie bei vielen offenen Headsets, Abstriche: Unter 80 Hz fängt der Bass an abzusacken. Ich persönliche nutze den EqualizerAPO um bei 80 Hz einen Low-Shelf-EQ mit 5 dB hinzuzufügen. Das mag vielleicht den allgemeinen Klang in den Mitte und Höhen ein Wenig verändern, aber dafür hab ich ausreichend Bass, dass es zum Zocken reicht./////////////// Mikrofon ///////////////Das Mikrofon ist okay. Es ist nichts Außergewöhnliches aber auch nicht schlecht. Das MMX 300 (2. Gen) hat ein dynamisches Mikrofon, das sehr basslastig ist und bei dem wirklich nur die Stimme zu hören ist. Beim Game One hört man mehr Hintergrundgeräusche, dafür ist die Stimme heller und auch hohe Frequenzen werden aufgezeichnet. Ohne EqualizerAPO finde ich das Mikrofon etwas zu dünn. Das mag manche nicht stören, ich persönlich bevorzuge aber gut von anderen gehört zu werden. Indem man das Mikrofon bei der Stimmgrundfrequenz bei 100–300 Hz um ganze 5 dB anhebt und ab so 8 kHz auch 2–3 dB erhöht klingt es meiner Meinung nach viel besser. Ggf. kann man bei 1,6 kHz noch die Sprachverständlichkeit mit 2–3 dB anheben. Dazu noch ein Low-Cut bei 80 Hz weil das eh keiner bei der Stimme braucht (auch wenn das Mikrofon bei den Frequenzen kaum noch was aufnimmt). Das hängt natürlich von der Stimme und dem Geschlecht der Person ab. Kurz gesagt: mit ein bisschen EQ kann man das Mikrofon sehr schön hinbiegen.Wichtig zu wissen ist, dass man das Mikrofon in der Höhe verstellen kann, aber nur etwas schwierig nach vorne oder hinten. Zwar kann man es in die Richtung biegen, aber es ist schwieriger es in der Position zu lassen. Es geht allerdings mit ein bisschen biegen ohne Probleme. Ein bisschen ungewohnt ist es dennoch, da ich beim QPad QH-85, beim MMX 300 (2. Gen) und Co. das Mikrofon immer frei positionieren konnte. Allerdings erspart das ein lästiges Einstellen nach jedem Aufsetzen und dafür bleibt das Mikrofon, wenn es einmal eingestellt ist, auch nach mehrmaligem Aufsetzen in Position. Am Anfang ist es vielleicht ein Kompromiss zwischen gut klingen und das Mikrofon im Augenwinkel unten zu sehen, aber schiebt man es ein bisschen unter den Mund sieht man es nicht mehr und es klingt genauso gut./////////////// Bedienung ///////////////Das Muten des Mikrofons mit dem Hochklappen ist eigentlich ziemlich praktisch. Zwar hätte ich einen Switch bevorzugt, allerdings finde ich das Prinzip auch nicht schlecht. Ich persönlich nutze die Funktion sowieso zu selten, da ich mich mit Hotkeys in den Apps selbst mute. Gut ist, dass das Muten keine Störgeräusche verursacht. Bei eigentlich allen Headsets außer dem MMX 300 (2. Gen) hört man einen lauten Knackser beim Muten/Entmuten. Das finde ich für bekannte Marken doch eher traurig. Bei dem Game One ist das aber nicht der Fall.Auf der rechten Seite ist der Lautstärkeregler. Dieser funktioniert zum Glück logarithmisch wie man es gewohnt ist. Beim Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X war dieser nämlich linear und so hat man 0–50 Prozent ganz langsam erreicht und 50–100 mit einem Millimeter. Das hat die Lautstärkeeinstellung unmöglich gemacht. Ich benutze den Lautstärkeregler eigentlich selten und hab ihn immer auf das Maximum gestellt, da ich Tastatur-Hotkeys für die Lautstärke in Windows nutze. Interessant ist vielleicht, dass 0 am Headset nicht „Stumm“ ist sondern sehr leise. Der Lautstärkeregler ist leichtgängig und gut zu bedienen. Auch die Gripstriche und die eine Grip-„Delle“ finde ich gut./////////////// Tragekomfort ///////////////Mit der richtigen Einstellung spüre ich das Headset erst nach 1–1,5 Stunden. Dabei meine ich spüren nicht unbedingt dass es unangenehm wird. Nach 2–3 Stunden nehm ich einmal für eine Minute ab, aber es wird nie unangenehm. Die Ohren können frei atmen, was mir auch wichtig ist. Meist schwitze ich nach 30 Minuten schon bei geschlossenen Headsets und das finde ich persönlich unangenehm. Ein weiterer Vorteil der offenen Bauweise.Schlecht finde ich nur, dass die Kopfbügelposition zwar einrastet, aber keine Markierungen hat. Man muss sich also entweder immer damit herumspielen oder wie ich die einzelnen Schritte abzählen wenn man es einstellen will. Der nach vorne geneigte Kopfbügel ist aber wirklich angenehm und schaut nur komisch aus. Von der Sitzposition ist er ideal./////////////// Fazit ///////////////Das Headset ist meines Erachtens das Beste offene Headset am Markt. Der Klang ist ausgewogen wenn auch der Bass etwas fehlt. Dabei hilft der EqualizerAPO. Der Tragekomfort ist super auch wenn die Optik und der nach vorne geneigte Kopfbügel am Anfang irritiert. Das Mikrofon ist sehr neutral aber gibt mit einem EQ viel her. Für den Preis von € 120 kann ich ihn definitiv empfehlen. Manchmal ist er nicht in Aktion und kostet € 160. Hier würde ich ihn ebenfalls empfehlen auch wenn der Preis für die Plastikkontruktion etwas hoch ist.

Llevaba tiempo detrás de unos buenos auriculares con micrófono para el PC, ya que la mayoría dejan mucho que desear y aprovechando que estaban de oferta, decidí lanzarme por las buenas críticas que ha recibido el producto y no me he equivocado en absoluto.El sonido es espectacular, típico de la casa Sennheiser. Al ser abiertos tienen una amplitud de escenario mucho mayor que el modelo cerrado y permite que la escucha sea más cómoda al permitir el flujo de aire. Graves prominentes, medios buenos y agudos muy presentes. En general es un auricular muy bien ecualizado.El micrófono si bien no es extraíble, se silencia al levantarlo, algo muy práctico sin tener que recurrir a botones o a cambiar entre ventanas. La calidad de grabación es muy buena y tiene un sonido bastante natural a diferencia de otros micrófonos.En cuanto a comodidad, decir que son bastante ligeros y las almohadillas junto al hecho de que son cerrados permiten una correcta transpiración.En principio con una tarjeta de sonido integrada debería valer, pero si queremos sacarle todo el partido recomiendo adquirir una mejor sea interna o externa.
