Peck Peck Peck: From the creator of Maisy – an interactive funny rhyming board book for babies and toddlers about a woodpecker, with holes on every page

This is an amusing and colourful book with lots of holes for little fingers to poke through! Quite different from the other books I'm familiar with for this age group. Educational as it covers many common words around the home. A lovely simple story that's fun for little ones and actually made me laugh out loud on first reading!

I got this for my 10 month old and she absolutely loves it! I love how many pages there are and the storyline is very entertaining. There are not many books that will hold her attention for this long so its defo a winner!

Bright funny illustrations. The holes in pages increase as the woodpecker learns to peck. Great fun!

It’s a nice enough book. I got the hardback one. After reading the reviews I was sold on the idea of little fingers being able to poke through the holes, however it’s only the front cover that you can actually get your fingers through. The other pages have tiny holes that you can feel but you won’t get your fingers through. A nice book with nice story at a reasonable price.

Io adoro questo libro, sono di parte. Mi piace tutto. La storia, la cantilena che si crea, le illustrazioni. Si incontrano tante parole nuove, si ripete il peck peck peck non so quante volte e si accompagna il piccolo picchio alla scoperta di ciò che lo circonda. È un classico che a mio avviso anche chi mastica poco l’inglese può introdurre con facilità.

Als ich das Buch für meine damals dreijährige Enkelin kaufte, war ich mir gar nicht sicher, ob ihr das Buch gefallen würde. Es gefiel - und zwar von Anfang an! Das Buch handelt von einem "Spechtkind", das das "Löcherpicken" üben muss. In gereimter Sprache zählt das Vogelkind eine Menge Sachen auf, die es erfolgreich durchlöchert hat. Am Ende wird es liebevoll dafür gelobt. Mehr passiert nicht. Aber, was das Vogelkind nicht alles löchert! Jetzt nach zwei Jahren, wird das Buch noch immer wieder und wieder "gelesen" und vorgelesen, auch von der großen Schwester, die gerade lesen gelernt hat.

We have had this book for years. Got it because we love birds and nature and kept it because it is the best chaotic and fun story in our library. The book is full of holes. You are literally paying for a book that is missing parts of pages and words all over the place… and the reason that I’m reviewing it now is because I just came to buy it again for another baby shower and I figured my constant purchasing of this board book is probably is the best review in itself! We still read it regularly even though my kid has technically aged out… so much so that I could recite the entire thing from memory at any point in the day. Super fun story, love the bright/bold illustrations, has a lot of common household words in it which is great for littler kids learning to talk, and it can also be an easy conversation starter for encouraging your kid to do what they love. 10/10, will keep buying this book until the end of time.
