I have bought several titles on this topic, and this is certainly one of the better ones.Also, it has a good ratio of photographs, diagrams and copy. Believe it or not, I have been sold construction guides that contain no images or plans of any sort (which I obviously wouldn't have purchased had that been indicated!) This is thorough and contains a lot of "Best Practises".

Superb ideas, measurements and information in planning. It is all US measurements and examples (Mar-connectors) etc., but with a little knowledge of DIY or construction, this can be easily compensated for on the UK side. This is a great purchase - satisfied.

The book provides a good overview over most important construction steps. However it leaves out some details such as damp proof layers, heating etc. and I wished some of the chapters were a bit more detailed, therefore only 4 stars. Nevertheless, I'd definitely recommend it, if you're planning to build a tiny house; just find it useful to have this information neatly collected in one place and with clear photos and illustrations on tricky details of some construction steps.

Great little book, full of useful details.

Book looks good for beginners but the printing on my copy was faulty. Two sections were repeated and a lot of pages were missing. The book was in fine condition so it must be the production that is the problem.

Informative

I purchased this book for £22 on Amazon hoping it would have lots of content. Whilst I read it to the end it was a bit disappointing. It only took 1.5 hours to read, which is too short for something either this price tag. Some of the areas covered are detailed and other unbelievably basic. Other areas such as fit out are not covered at all, and the plans are very few. Personally I think this book should be £5-10 in its current format. It's like the author had a great idea but didn't finish it off or rushed to get it into print.

Good read if you want a new home!
