After a lifetime of traditional shoelaces that untie, wear out and never fit quite right, we decided to redesign how we lace-up. Easy to install and totally customizable, HICKIES are a one-and-done tie less elastic shoe lace system — just snap them into your shoes when you get them and you’ll be ready to slip-on with a perfect fit every time. With our signature adaptive technology and tie free shoe lace design, these no tie laces were made for walking, and running, and jumping, and pedaling, and...you get the picture. Wear them wherever you go or wherever you train, and transform the way you move.

you can easily replace with a new one
Surprisingly hardy, but no impervious to wear and tear. Luckily you get more than you need in the resealable bag, so when one of them brakes time to time, you can easily replace with a new one. Since I bought them a few months back I've had 2 of the bands break at the bolt (not the eyelet) I am guessing because the plastic bolt is not as durable as the elastic. Positives include; they keep taught even after a lot of use, they can take a lot of damage and still perform well, and they look good as-long as you get the right colour of course :)

Functional and easy to use
Seem pretty good so far, I only bought them as I'm lazy and couldn't be bothered doing my laces all the time. They annoy me how they don't sit flush when not wearing the shoes but I'm just being picky and its because of the loop design on my chosen trainer. In terms of wearing them, my shoes are easy to get on, they are suitably tight and they kept held with no issues when running.I've given 4 stars for most options but only because I've not used them long enough to verify if they're 5 star worthy.I've given 3 star for value as I think they should be cheaper overall, they're literally tiny pieces of rubber so personally I think they shouldn't be much more than £5

Used to be much better
I had a set of these on my shoes for work for a good 4 years or so with absolutely no issues, they were excellent. However, those shoes wore out and so I bought more of these Hickies for the new pair. For some reason these don't fit so well - they are all one size and overall (even with double crossing as much as possible) they are all too loose. Whether that contributes to the second, more annoying issue, I can't tell, but this set keep breaking. I have had 4 break in the past couple of months, whereas on my original pair frmo several years ago not one of them ever snapped. Ultimately these are still good and it may be due to some design difference in the shoes themselves (although can't see how that would make quite such a difference tbh) that contributes to the recent issues, as opposed to a design/quality issue.

More comfortable and convenient than laces
Really thought these would be rubbish but I had a pair of shoes that I found uncomfortable around the laces and was thinking of throwing away. These Hickies completely revitalised them. They were suede Puma sneakers, so not trainers and they look decent.I've bough the red and the white ones and used them in running trainers too. They are so much more comfortable than normal laces, they make the shoes slip much more easily and I don't feel like they are too loose for doing sport (i.e. Running and jumping).I wouldn't use them in leather shoes but in fabric trainers and sneakers they are very good.Pros:ComfortSpeedCan make some shoes look funkyEasy to fitCons:A little expensive if you have several pairs of shoes to doShoes look odd when your not wearing them (this is pretty minor in reality as I don't care what they look like when I'm not wearing them)

Too small - bruised my feet
Not happy with the product at all. I was super excited when I received them they look fab however they are really really small! They pressed down on my foot so much that I've ended up bruising the top (you can see 3 lines which have bruised) I'm on day 4 and it's slightly going down but still hurts when even the slightest bit of pressure is put on! I thought maybe because I have slightly wide feet this might be the case so I gave them to my friend to try out who is a UK size 4 with pretty petite slim feet (I'm a UK size 7.5) and she had the same problem as me! The idea/concept is fantastic I can't fault that but the sizing is completely of the mark. I wore them for about 2 hours at the gym and they were sooooo uncomfortable beyond belief. I had to stop my run on the treadmill half way because I couldn't handle the pain and took my trainers off for a bit. If they could sort out their sizing I would actually consider purchasing these, but as they are now I wouldn't and I really wish I could return them because it's a waste of money in my eyes. My advise would be see if there is any shop close by that you can visit and actually try them on and see how you get on. But saying that I was kind of ok for the first 10 mins was slightly uncomfortable but I was walking to the gym so maybe that's why I didn't feel much until I started working out properly. If anyone finds a product out there with the same concept but bigger sizes then please do let me know because I absolutely hate laces!!!

Love em
Hickies are great and I’ve been using them since the first kick starter campaign. They do what it says on the tin and are easy to use, strong and long lasting. Living in Norway is tough on any shoe laces but these survive winter and summer and rain and give me a long lasting solution to laces. I love ‘em.

Great for shoes that need to come off a lot
These are great for my work shoes that I have to take on and off a lot, they fit securely without the need to tie laces. They don't last forever but on regular shoes that are non used all the time they should be durable enough.
