works well on the outlet hose of my pond vac ...
works well on the outlet hose of my pond vac out let hose but a bit tricky to get a tight fit around the out let hose due to the wide mouth of the filter bag. The water still had to be left to settle before returning to the pond as some debris still was too small for the filter. The wide mouth does have the advantage that you can use the bag ( as the plastic is quite stiff) as net to scoop flotsam off the top of your pond.

Good quality, but far too small.
This Finest-Filters Short Pond Filter Bag, 400 Micron Mesh, is well made, but far too small, for my purpose. However, I should have read the description, more carefully, because it does actually say:'These bags are 11 inches wide and 16 inches long'. Having worked with millimetres for so long, my brain obviously can no longer equate to feet and inches, to imaging the size of anything. :0(PROS:The fine mesh does a very good job of filtering out most of the sludge that I sucked up from the bottom of my pond, with my new pond vacuum. I was expecting the water to instantly become very cloudy, from the pond vacuum discharge hose, but it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. :0)It is made of a tough material, so hopefully, it should stand the test of time. :0)CONS:The drawstring that tightens the neck of the bag around the end of the pond vacuum discharge pipe, is quite thick, and awkward to tie. This isn't helped by the fact that the material is quite stiff, but that may soften up, in the fullness of time. It would be better if the bag could be held in, with some kind of strong elastic ring (bungie cord), installed through where the drawstring is inserted. I intend to modify my filter bag, with a loop of bungie cord, like a stronger hair band, to make installing and removal of filter bag much quicker. All that said, the new pond vacuum's powerful suction only lasts for 20 seconds, before the 30 litre tank fills up, which stops the motor for 30 seconds, to allow the tank to empty back into the pond, and the cycle repeats itself. Unfortunately, it was the biggest one that I could afford. :0(I have a 6m x 5m x 1.4m pond, and this year the sludge growing on the bottom has become quite thick, and floats to the surface, especially on sunny days, which is ver unsightly. Currently I've been removing it by hand, with a long handled net, which is a backbreaking chore; hence my buying a pond vacuum. But at this rate, it will take me quite a few hours, even days, to clean it all up. Having to constantly remove this filter bag, empty it, and then fiddling about refitting it, isn't going to help speed up this odious task. :0(However, if you only need a relatively small filter bag, this would be a good buy. Personally, I need to keep searching for something bigger, but of the same quality.

Good for leaves
Bought this net as it seemed a good size and seemed to have a small mesh, but when hoovering the pond the smaller (dust) particles just leaked out back in the water making it very murky. I decided in the end to have this net placed outside of the pond where it couldn't re-contaminate the water. I just re-filled the pond when completed cleaning. It's fine for leaves and larger debris rather than finer particles. It's definitely large but to be honest I doubt if it'll get used again.

pond filter bag
I would recommend this to anyone who has a pond vac as it works on the vac to help empty the dirt and grime from the pond by flow of water through the vac to the bag which collects the pond waste in.

Works very well although I have altered mine slightly
Arrived quickly and exactly the same as the last one although hard to close with the draw string I altered mine slightly by punching holes below the drawstring hem then touch holes with soldering iron that stops any fraying and then I use a tie wrap to close it off my holes where about an inch down from the hem and an inch and a half apart. I hope this will help some one or give them a better idea

Does the job!
Had no problem using it. Tied onto pond vacuum outlet pipe and worked perfectly.

fine filter
Good fine filter. Could do with a more elastic top to fit around pipes.
