๐ good near field speakers, used for listening at shorter distances
ok, letโs get this info out the way ; if you thinking of or have just purchase a pair, please keep the box - why ? because a tiny sticker on the box says warranty void if removed! also for a bit more pre-amble info, each speaker has a manufacture sequence number, underneath the rubber foot, these numbers should be relatively close in sequence and finally the power supply date stamp roughly tells you the sub-version of the speaker you are thinking of purchasing or you have just purchased, if itโs 2016 it has very possibly been made before the EQ was tweaked in the white special edition, if the date stamp is 2018, then at this time, both white and the black micro speaker versions have the exactly same EQ, that said if you have an earlier version (2016) the difference is really not that great, would i buy a 2016 version, yes ;-) these micro speakers are like a lot of cross over professional level products very popular and at a keen price point, they are not as robust as a pair of baby genelecs (close match in product type) or have the same level of audio response, but they are good and provide a detailed audio picture. performance wise, the quality of the digital sound processor delivers, as other reviewers have said, yes at some higher levels some white noise hiss and a beeping when the bluetooth connects -- this is normal for this type of dynamic speakers which is designed as a near field system to be used at lower levels where any white noise hiss is hardly noticeable, the much talked about low frequency rumble discussions on the internet i guess maybe an issue if you are mixing music with this frequency running throughout the mix, see internet for diy fix :-) -- oh one thing to watch out for, if using bluetooth and why not, it's good without any noticeable loss of quality, when you re-connect the volume on a mac is pushed to max ! -- make sure you have, either, nothing playing into the speakers on bluetooth re-connect or use something like on a mac the loopback app where you can define audio circuits and preset volume levels I have only just purchased a pair, for a small home studio, so longevity untested, like all speakers keep out of the sun or dry heat and when not using for a long while pack up in a padded case away from heat and dust should increase the lifespan plenty of detail specs and analysis available on the internet -- these speakers are good they are not baby genelecs which retail at around double the price for a pair ... ( didn't manage to buy them from Amazon ... next time :-)

Punching far above what the size would suggest
These are quite miraculous speakers, very tiny in size with a small footprint but they sound almost the same as larger bookshelf speakers paired with a sub! They are very detailed. It's not body shaking bass at all but it's still very rich, controlled bass. They're still breaking in but it looks like they will go very loud too based on the gain and volume settings used so far. They consume 5W at idle and 5-7W in use at medium volume. The left speaker contains the class D amp and gets slightly warm, the power supply remains cold. It'd be nice if the power consumption was less whilst they were doing nothing (standby). I'm using them on a standup conversion desk next to my monitor as their little footprint was the only option. Cons: Hums at the higher gain levels especially above the middle setting, but luckily these are not needed as even just my laptop outputs plenty of signal and volume at around 1/4 or less. A bit disappointing to see, and it makes the gain knob completely pointless really, no one spends this much to listen to humming. Please note this is with no device connected, it is not a ground loop hum so it seems to be an issue in the device itself. Non removable speaker grills, which impacts the cosmetics and the audio slightly. Apparently for portability, but I won't be moving these around which I'm sure most customers wouldn't be. Reports of bad rattles over time, hopefully I do not get this, I will update my review if I do.

Absolutely sublime
I was skeptical about buying something that are seemingly this tiny, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find that my skepticism was ill founded. These monitors are absolutely amazing, it is hard to imagine that these little things are able to create such a loud and clear sound signature. Lows are present, not muddy but not earth shattering 4/5 Mids are full and warm, very welcoming yet tight 5/5 Highs are amazing, the details are preserved yet there is zero sibilance, just the right amount of sparkle 5/5 I use these for everything, from monitoring, to critical listening to running a processor and playing my guitar thru. These are also sturdy and very well made, I've travelled with them, chucked them in a bag and forgotten about them, they have gather a few scuffs and scratches but the sound remains as good as day one. Setup is easy, basic plug and play, the Bluetooth feature is extremely handy, I've pulled these out in small parties and have had a blast, the versatility is unmatched, the size to performance ratio is insane. The iLouds were an excellent find, they have eliminated the need to any keep any other pair of speakers I've had in my life, I've gotten rid of every bluetooth speaker I've had, these are the once source of truth for me.

So Far, so good. V. Impressed.
Bought these to replace a pair of expired (11 years always-on) Audioengine A2s in my kitchen setup. After reading reviews etc, and seeing them on offer (ยฃ224) i bought without auditioning them as I normally would with audio kit. Quick and easy to install, I added an iFi power supply and a cheap FiiO Tashan DAC, then connected all to Squeezebox Touch. Pairing a couple of Bluetooth devices was next, then ready to go. First impressions with my own FLACs, Qubuz flacs, Spotify 320kps and iplayer, were great. Vocals particularly were far better than A2s. Mids much more forward (but not in your face โrevealingโ) and the DSP bass is very OK for such a diminutive box. All very together, cohesive, and other such hi fi terms..... Really pleasing. Crank it up to max and things do break down a bit, but these arenโt really designed to be full-on party speakers or for deep house/dubstep fiends. What they are, is thoroughly enjoyable room filling speakers that really do bely their size, and offer sophisticated-sounding, engaging and fun listening with all genres i play reggae to chamber music. For radio 4 etc, they are perfect. More than good enough for a kitchen/office/ bedroom second system, but actually, were i not spoiled elsewhere with more costly audiophile gear, i would still be happy with these as my main system. Very pleased with this purchase. I am considering adding a very small subwoofer to relive the iLouds of <60hz bass loading which should free up mid mass, mids and tweeters more. Thinking of a hidden Fostex PM Mini.... BUT, I am genuinely thrilled with the sound and quality. These speakers perform well above their cost imho. I have noted other comments on reliability and IK customer service, but so far, so good. I left the previous A2s running continually (for 10+ years) but with these I turn on/off each day. Pros: - Very accomplished overall sound for size, cost and category. - vocals sound very open - they can rock and funk for average to loud (but not deafening) levels - Dinky design and size is pleasing - Build quality seems good and solid. - Range of uses and sittings possible - Eq Parameters and tilt angle adjustments useful plus well though out - BT Pairs and connects quickly and easily. - no hum with alt PSU (iFi) - Solid and good system-buildIn potential - add dacs, subs etc - WAF high - wife loves them and they have received universal approval from all house visitors to date. Cons: - Supplied PSU is poor quality - no surprise it hums. - rear switches especially power ON are a fiddle to reach. - ditto rear volume - however I use input devices to control levels and leave main volume preset at half. - L+R connecting cable is very thick and quite unwieldy (with proprietary connectors) for those who like tidy hidden cabling - Bluetooth does bleep as reported once it senses an already-paired device - and this can irritate. solution is to switch off iphone BT. - BT sound quality not a patch on wired inputs - but you knew that. Really hoping they prove to be reliable in long term. RECOMMENDED EDIT UPDATE MAY 2021 Well these have been going now for 9 months. They are playing either radio, streamed music or podcasts from 7am to 8-9pm most days. Been cranked up loud a few times and they are more than punching above their weight, but generally they are ticking along at more moderate volumes. I am really enjoying them as are the family. Many guests have also commented on their neatness, full and detailed sound and DSP enhanced bass that belies their diminutive size. Their fit and finish is good - they wipe over easily in kitchen. They have gone up in price since I bought them as have their bigger brothers the MTM monitors. -I could be tempted to upgrade. Cons: Not perfect - the rear control can be a pita, although I use a streamer and have added Topping E30 DAC to act has pre amp/vol controls. Bluetooth is OK, but they do have a bad habit of auto connecting to a previously linked device, whilst already playing something else - then emitting a dreadful white noise. Unlink devices (iphone etc) solves this. Fortunately re-linking is a doddle. Itโs the only black mark. Otherwise I am delighted.

You might not have heard of these but, don't let that put you off.
There are a ton of technical reasons why these speakers are good and none of them matter. What matters is that if you need to hear music in detail without headphones, these are exceptional for their size and cost. I have paired mine with a Yamaha MODX M6 plus other gear and the sound is great in my small office.

Small speakers BIG sound
Donโt be fooled by the sizeโฆsound is awesome even in a big room. No need for additional speaker cables etc. as all you need is in the box. Just plug into PC/Mac headphone socket and use.

Unbearable hiss, poor packaging
I set these up and for the first 30mins these felt perfect. Lovely size, excellent quality, like my MacBook speakers but just better in every way. Then you notice the hiss and when sitting as close as you do on a desk....it's pretty damn loud. Neither my MacBook nor Sonos speakers have this hiss. So why do these? It's pretty unacceptable given the price and target market. So unfortunately I had to return these and return to using my MacBook speakers, with Sonos picking up Spotify playback. Would have kept and given 5 stars IF there was no hiss. Come on IK, how does stuff like this get through quality control? Also the packaging is very fragile and ripped easily when opening, so if you think you might return them, open them VERY carefully and slowly. Still gets 3 stars a it's otherwise a fantastic set of speakers for the sound. IF you can tolerate the hiss. I couldn't.

Stunning little speakers
After lots of research, I couldn't get away from these little beasties. I'm a little bit out of the norm, in that I live in a motorhome & my hobbies are music production & DJ-ing. Due to this, I needed small footprint speakers, with reference quality audio for my production but also a decent kick for my DJ-ing. On low volume, these drop low with audible sub frequencies, which is remarkable for a 3" driver. Sadly at DJ volumes, they do clip, so I had to purchase a sub. With these combined, I have an awesome set up. Everything, everyone says that's good about these micro monitors is true. The detail & clarity is spectacular. They are crystal clear & give good separation, with a wide soundstage. They are an audiophiles dream. The sound they produce, belies their tiny frame, it truly does. I'm using very good RCA interconnect cables from source to the sub & to the speakers but even with the cheapo one supplied, they did sound good. What I'm not over keen on is their looks or the brand name. iLoud sounds tacky & they do look cheap but I'm growing to like their quirky appearance. At the end of the day, I bougthem to listen to, not look at. I was a touch sceptical with all the reviews saying how amazing they are as if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. But not in this case. They truly are amazing & I'm thrilled that I bought them.

At the price, simply amazing
The only thing I would say is if you are going to use these in a dark room. Get the black ones instead. The LED is very bright, and even if you block it, it will shine through the white plastic.

compact and powerful.
These may look small but are two powerful set of monitors. Sound quality is maybe not that flat but there is value for money. You may go for it.

Increibles
Impresionante sonido para su tamaรฑo. Balanceado con graves que llegan a 45 hz. La construcciรณn es solida excepto el interruptor de encendido, que tiene juego.
