A Handy Adapter with Some Limitations
A Handy Adapter with Some Limitations The RØDE VXLR Mini-jack to XLR Adaptor is a useful accessory for anyone looking to connect a 3.5mm microphone to a device with XLR inputs. Its compact and well-built design makes it a convenient solution for on-the-go recording scenarios. One of the standout features of this adapter is its durability. True to RØDE's reputation, it is constructed with high-quality materials and features rugged connectors and strain relief sleeves, ensuring reliable use for years to come. The 1-year warranty further adds to the peace of mind for buyers. However, it's important to note that the VXLR is not compatible with microphones that require plug-in power, such as the RØDE VideoMicro. This limitation may be a dealbreaker for some users who prefer the convenience of microphones with built-in power solutions. Additionally, while the adapter's dimensions (58mm x 19mm x 19mm) make it relatively compact, it may still add some bulk to your setup, which could be a concern for those seeking a truly minimalist solution. Overall, the RØDE VXLR Mini-jack to XLR Adaptor is a solid choice for anyone in need of a reliable adapter to connect their 3.5mm microphone to an XLR input device. Its durability and RØDE's reputation for quality are significant advantages, but the compatibility limitations and potential added bulk are worth considering before making a purchase.

The RØDE VXLR Mini-jack to XLR Adapter is an excellent solution for anyone looking to connect a 3.5mm microphone to an XLR input with ease. The build quality is solid, and the adapter feels durable enough for regular use in both studio and on-location settings. It’s lightweight and compact, making it easy to carry in any gear bag without adding bulk. This adapter has been a fantastic addition to my setup, allowing me to use lavalier and shotgun microphones seamlessly with my professional XLR equipment. If you need a reliable and well-built mini-jack to XLR adapter, this one is definitely worth considering.

Solid adapter, works flawlessly
Really good piece of kit. Feels well made and connects securely without any looseness. Once plugged in, it just works—no noise, no signal issues. Great for integrating different bits of audio gear, especially when moving between mini-jack and XLR setups. Reliable and does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

Needed A 3.5mm Mono To Stereo Adapter To Work With My Audient ID14 Interface - Afterwards It's Was All Good
3.5mm Mono To Stereo Adaptor So as many have mentioned the details of this adapter may leave some wanting as it seems to only work under a certain circumstance of mono / stereo a newbie like me could not 100% understand - bottom line is after reading some reviews and suggestions i bought the 3.5 mono to stereo adapter i have linked and then this rode adapter worked with my audio interface and many others - without it - it only seems to work on a select few - so it was an additional £4 but it now works and i'm happy - now i can use my android phone or tablet as a new input and play sound effects for my #woodyallenretro podcast - great!

Great bit of kit for the money
A great product, very useful for using slightly more cost effective 3.5mm equipment such as cables and mics and being able to put them into equipment that uses xlr inputs. obviously there is going to be some quality dropoff but form using this i can say the quality is as good as your going to get with using an adapter anyway. in terms of build quality you would expect good quality from rode at this price, and i was not disappointed. the metal construction feels very sturdy and worth the six quid or so paid for the item. the friction on mounting a 3.5mm jack is good meaning it will not fall out or rattle around at all. One of the good points about this is because it is rode you can trust it and its xlr connection feels strong. not much else to say. not cheap but definitely worth the money if you want to use your 3.5mm kit with a xlr input. on a side note is black so blends in with most kit and looks like your kit is xlr and seems more professional than it actually might be.

Really good but DO NOT WORK with powered lav mics! Get the VXLR+ instead!
These work great but DO NOT WORK with powered lav mics. I have to buy VXLR+ to make my Giant Squid Audio work, but the are very useful for the XLR inputs on my PCM and audio recorders and desk. The are a better quality sound than the 3.5-5mm converter but they do not transmit the 5v needed to power some lav mics. 48v 24v and other power outputs from desks and from recorders from the H4N make a very loud hissing sound and the mics are unusable. I will still use these but was disappointed a bit (my fault) The VXLR+ reduce the voltage to the required 5-12v from 48v phantom power and make the lav mics sound great. Very good quality other than that!

Great, but is not very strong
I bought a few of these for work. I needed to get a 3.5mm out from my Rode Wireless into an XLR Zoom recorder. They worked great, but one of them detached when pulling out from the recorder and it separated easily, so I assume it is not very strong or well made. It still works but I have had to tape it together so it does not come apart.

Fantastic
I bought two of these to use my Rode Videomic Pro and also my Rode wireless filmmaker kit on my FS7. Does a great job - it's sturdy, the connections don't feel flimsy at all and I have had no issue in camera or on shoot as a result of the adapters. In fact I tried an XLR to audio-jack lead which I found instead of the 3.5m cables and these adapters, and they didn't work. If you want to use your DSLR sound kit on XLR input cameras or mixers, you'll need these and they won't go wrong.

Wireless GO II
I connect my wireless go II to my Rodecaster and podtrak p4 with these which is easy and convenient and allows a lot of headroom.

Don't waste your money.
Bought this so that my lavalier mic could plug into my interface. Not only does this intruduce an immense amount of noise, the mic signal through this is so low that it can barely be picked up, even at max gain. Awful and misleading product, if this is supposed to be used for something else, it should be advertised differently.

Works Perfectly!
This does exactly what it is meant to do. In my case I attached it to the RODECaster Duo in order to connect a wireless mic that is not RODE.
