Great value, easy-to-use phone.
GREAT value for money! I had the model below this one (I'm not one for internet etc. on phone, just want something simple), and only bought this because I wanted more memory for messages. It was just as described, and was delivered on time. It is much faster and has more memory, and some fun wee games including sudoku, plus radio, calender, calculator etc.. The only down-sides I can find it that, for me, the screen is quite small (smaller than model before), and the handset is a bit too rectangular and hurts my hand a bit (other one was more rounded at edges). Both of these things are easy to live with though, and it may just be my personal preference. But for £16 or thereabouts, it is a great wee phone, and I would highly recommend. I am 23 and this is a great phone, and I would choose it over an iPhone any day. Reliable and simple.

Very favourable first impressions of Nokia 105 purchased in July 2016
I initially got this as a stop-gap while between smartphones. However, I am so pleased with it that that I have reviewed my needs and will be sticking with this simple phone and combining it with an iPad mini for my 'online' requirements ... it's a solution that will suit me but not everyone. Anyway, VERY pleased with this Nokia 105.. - the packaging was small enough that it was able to be delivered through my standard size letterbox while I was out - the phone is small ... smaller than my old Nokia of yesteryear ... about the size of a Penguin biscuit! - the charger ... was expecting it to be a special 'pin' type connector but pleased to see that it charges via a micro USB connection. It came with a micro USB cable but that is hard-wired to a UK plug but I don't see why a normal micro USB to standard USB connection would not work. The UK plug is actually one of those where the earth pin folds down to make a smaller item. - it took my standard sized SIM card so no messing about getting a replacement SIM in a different size. - it arrived mostly charged and took just a couple of hours to report that it was fully charged - it was simple and straightforward to set up how I wanted it (contacts, ringtones etc) On the phone and text message side of things the only downside seems to be the old style of clicking through 3 or 4 characters when building a text message - but no big deal to me. It does look like there is a dictionary that you can activate to switch on some predictive text functionality but that's probably more trouble that it's worth (for me). Personally I think the Nokia 105 looks pretty good in an understated sort of way - simple but not a garish kids phone (probably too simple a device for many children these days) From what I have read while researching which phone to go for it seems that these simple phones seem to be making a bit of a comeback - search for "Punkt MP01" if you would like to see a very expensive version of this genre!

Good basic phone
Good cheap phone. If you (like me) have had several Nokia phones, the menus and general operation will be familiar. Main complaints are the restrictions on text/background combinations. I've now managed to get it so I can see the text most of the time (i.e. black on green) - but some items display white on green (unreadable). My previous Nokia phone model (now discontinued) could be set to display everything in black and white. Maybe if a fiddle some more..... If, like me, you always have a computer with you, and don't need a smartphone, this is good simple phone.

Great phone - don't buy it from Technomobiles
The phone was great until it stopped working after 11 months. I contacted the supplier, Technomobiles, and they washed their hands of it as it was beyond their 30 day return period. They don't seem to have heard of consumer rights and fitness for purpose. Nokia say the the version I had was a collaboration with Microsoft and I should contact them. Microsoft say I should contact the supplier (Technomobiles). At the end of the day it is a cheap phone but there is a principle here - you should expect a mobile to work for more than 11 months and if it doesn't you would expect the supplier to fix or replace it. If you want a simple phone that's small with a great battery life as a backup for your expensive smartphone then get one of these - just don't buy it from Technomobiles if you want any after sales service.

Amazing phone for the price
If you just want a basic mobile phone that makes and receives calls and texts, with none of the smartphone geekery that costs you a fortune, this is for you. I have a mobile contract dating back thirteen years but the phone that came with it is well past it. For £17 I got this SIM-free Nokia 105, popped in the SIM from the old phone and that was it - a new phone on an old and very economical contract for very little money. It feels and looks well-made and has a small colour screen, Nokia menus like the ones on the old Nokia 3100 etc, a radio (you need a headset for this), some games, a calendar and one or two other things as well as phonebook and call register. If you want a computer that happens to be able to make phone calls and that will make you a target for muggers, get an iPhone. If you want a mobile telephone pure and simple, get this. Nokia claim a 35-day standby time for this. I have not been able to test that yet.

Ideal for my mother
My mother needed a new mobile phone and, as she has problems using a touch screen device, it had to be one with buttons on it. I did check out what was available directly from the network providers, but all of them were offering packages way in excess of her needs (she is on a very old pay monthly package which gives her 50 mins and 50 texts per month and no data - she never exceeds this). This 'phone is simple to use for making calls and texting. It looks as if there is the ability to set it up for email, but she isn't interested in this. One feature that is missing is that there is the lack of Bluetooth. Her last phone connected to her car, but in the last three years she has only ever received one call when driving and never made one, so this is no great loss to her. What does count is the standby time (rated at 240 hours - 10 days). All in all, this is a very cheap and easy to use phone with basic features only, but a long standby time. Recommended as a simple 'phone.
