Must have during the current transition between the USB's
I purchased this USB to go with my new MacBook Pro 15" 2017 due to the fact the Mac only has USB C ports, and its come in extremely handy since. The tech world is moving towards USB C with many new devices offering USB C in the mix of ports, or in apples case, the only port. This little USB therefore comes in super handy as it allows you to plug in to any standard USB/USB C device and means you only need to cary one USB with you, The USB itself is pretty well built, it has a simple design with a plastic/metal housing, a small slider that you use to push either the regular USB or the USB C out and a small hole to attach a lanyard onto. A small, but welcomed feature is that when you retract the USB the slider sits in the centre and stays there, unlike another SanDisk dual USB drive I have used in the past where the slider won't lock into place and as a result the USB's are always sliding out and exposing themselves. Due to the metal body the USB can become extremely hot when transferring allot of data, however from what I can tell this does not seem to effect the performance, you may just want to be careful of this when in use. I can't remember what format the USB came in but I quickly re-formatted it to ExFAT so it would work well on both my Mac and PC, this is really easy to do on windows (Cant speak for Mac as I've never formatted a drive on my Mac, I assume it would be just as easy however) and once done means you can transfer the USB between Mac and PC without issue. The new MacBook Pro's have very limited storage unless your willing to pay a fortune for an upgrade, therefore this is a great way to cut down on costs with a new Mac as you can get a lower storage model and then one of these to store the things you'll use less often. I personally keep backups of my projects on the USB as well as some of my Steam games, the USB is fast enough to be able to download games to it and play them directly off the USB so you can really save some space by storing your games on here. Overall the USB is a must have for new MacBook owners and would do just fine if you intend to use it as a regular USB stick, a future proof investment as more things will begin to move to USB C over the years so this should last you a while!

Probably the best USB i have bought
Probably the best USB drive I’ve used so far. The dual USB-C and USB-A design is really handy, and it’s been fully compatible with everything I’ve thrown at it. I’ve partitioned it for multiple ISOs, app installers, and even a macOS build stick, and it’s handled all of it without any issues. I’m not gentle with my USB drives, but this one has held up well with no signs of damage, and the small size makes it easy to carry around. For the price, I think it offers great value, and I’ve already picked up a couple more and recommended it to a few colleagues.

Decent
practical in terms of both usb c and a can get very hot when transferring so not sure if this affects quality design is good but when using the usb c and a it feels slightly flimsy when using with iphone, samsung or even a mac it sometimes disconnects so not sure if is specifically my usb that has this issue but considering its sandisk i expected better.

Great - wish I'd bought it first rather than the 'Go' model
Early last year I bought the 128 GB version of this, It's great, no trouble connecting with my laptop with the USB A end, and importantly it worked flawlessly with my phone (just a Moto G54 5G) with the USB C connector, coming up in a file manager app just 1 second after plugging it in every time, and ejecting almost instantly. Some months later I decided I really needed a bigger 256GB Flash drive, and bought the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive 'Go' 256 GB as it was flagged as being a newer and faster model - what a mistake. That was OK connecting to the laptop, but was terrible with my phone: half the time it wouldn't connect at all and have to be pulled out and re-inserted, when it did connect it took ages for the file manager on the phone to show it, and it took about half-a-minute to eject. Wondering if it was my phone with the bigger memory flash drive I eventually bought this one, and despite being 256 GB like the 'Go' one, it works brilliantly, just like the 128 GB one. Connects to the phone every time, comes up in the phone's file manager in about 1 second, and ejects almost instantly; and of course you can retract both connectors while on the 'Go' model you can only cover one connector. I really regret buying the 'Go' model first instead of this drive. Pity they don’t do this model in even larger sizes. Anyway - for me, this model and size is brilliant.

Impressive performance and versatile connectivity!
I recently purchased the SanDisk Ultra 128 GB Dual Type-C USB 3.1 Flash Drive in Silver and I am extremely satisfied with its performance and versatility. This flash drive has quickly become an essential tool in my digital life! Firstly, the speed of this flash drive is impressive. With USB 3.1 technology, transferring large files or backing up data is a breeze. I was able to transfer a 4GB video file in just a matter of seconds! Whether it's movies, music, or documents, this flash drive handles it all without any lag or slowdowns. The dual Type-C and USB 3.1 connectors are a game-changer. I can easily connect it to my MacBook Pro or any other USB Type-C-enabled device. No more hassle of carrying multiple flash drives or adapters. It's a true plug-and-play experience, and the compatibility is excellent. The build quality of the flash drive is top-notch. The sleek silver design gives it a premium look and feels durable in hand. The retractable design protects the connectors when not in use, ensuring they stay safe from damage. I appreciate this thoughtful feature as it adds to the overall longevity of the product. In terms of storage capacity, the 128 GB is more than sufficient for my needs. It allows me to store a large number of files, photos, and even HD videos. Plus, the SanDisk SecureAccess software provides an added layer of security for my sensitive data, giving me peace of mind. Overall, the SanDisk Ultra 128 GB Dual Type-C USB 3.1 Flash Drive is a fantastic product that offers excellent performance and convenience. It's a reliable companion for anyone who needs to transfer or store data quickly and effortlessly. Highly recommended!

Perfect for file transfers
I've always struggled with dongles as a MacBook user (everything is USB C), but transferring files to other devices or legacy laptops (with USB A connections only) has been a hassle. I've had to rely on cloud transfers, which relies on the speed of your internet and depending on the file size it can take a long time! Now I have this handy piece of kit, it's been a life-saver! I can transfer files from my MacBook using the USB C end, then move it quickly to a Windows laptop with USB A (and vice-versa) with no issues at all. The price, physical size and storage capacity are perfect for me. I highly recommend it, and trust SanDisk as a storage company so it's great for my needs.

Inexpensive memory, cheaply made, Type C insert too short to fit protective cases
I bought this SanDisk Ultra 128 GB Dual Type-C USB 3.1 Flash Drive to save art out of my 2020 12.9" iPad Pro. The slide on top of the key pushes out either a USB A or USB C male connector. With the slider centered the key fits comfortably in a fob pocket; not quite small enough to fear losing it, not large enough to make a bulge even in a very small pocket. The USB C connector is too short to fit through the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro protective case I fitted to the iPad. It would have been a simple matter to make the male insert a bit longer and to supply a rubber distancing ring for those brave (very rich? extremely careless?) people who use bare iPads. Someone should tell SanDisk that the majority of two-grand tablet users put it in a protective case. The cost per Gigabyte is very reasonable indeed but the thing appears cheaply made in glossy plastic. i have no faith that the plastic slide operator will survive for long. The dimpling in the non-metalic part of the case is decorative, not rough enough to add grip. The USB drive's formatting worked without alteration in my iMac. Not having to reformat a thumb drive is a time advantage. To make it work in the iPad Pro I used SanDisk's key via a Uni hub in which the USB A end fits, with the hub connected to the iPad by a short cable. The SanDisk key works with and without the hub being powered, and it works in either USB Type A Version 2 or Type A Version 3 ports on the hub. In Version 1.1 ports it worked best in LaCie drives from under a MacMini which have distributive powered hubs built in; that might be a saving if you have a V1.1 hub lying around and work mainly with text, where the high transfer speed of the newer USB A specifications is less important than for transferring huge amounts of video. I didn't conduct any speed tests because lightning fast is fast enough for me. All in all not as satisfying as SanDisk's own relatively more expensive and solid first series Cruzer Blade or the generally more expensive Verbatim USB keys but good value for giving you a lot of GB for the money. SanDisk Ultra 128 GB Dual Type-C USB 3.1 Flash Drive does most of the job on uncased Type C computer gear, it is versatile in also having a USB A plug for use with older gear or in a hub with new gear, it's inexpensive per Gigabyte, but the construction and materials may be suspect and the convenience I bought it for didn't materialise, so three stars in my use. A less demanding user who accepts that a flash drive is a consumable item -- as I do not -- may reasonably give it four stars.
