Great Battery Grip
Arrived on first day of estimate. Bought with two spare batteries. Feels solid and looks good. Fits smoothly onto my 700D. All buttons work well and do as they should. Have only done a quick test so far and seems to be excellent value for money. Should last for years if treated as camera equipment normally is, but for 1/6th the cost of an OEM, does it matter if it breaks or gets lost. I will expand on this review only if I find I have problems in using it. Really great piece of kit. Recommending it around my local camera club. Not enough use yet to assess battery quality but they appear to be as good as OEM so far. 03/05/15 Now six months after purchase, time for an update. It is always on the camera, feels strange if I take it off now. It is really working well. No problems whatsoever. Standing up very well to the use it gets and the batteries are good too. Two members of my camera club have bought the grip after my recommendation and are very happy with it. Well worth the money spent on it.

Great quality and unreal value
What can I tell you. Looks like a Canon original part, feels like a canon original part, functions like a canon original part....how is this so cheap? Exactly as described, comes well packaged and with two internal trays (for AA and standard cam batteries) has a good rubbery texture to the grip. All the buttons function perfectly and the unit has its own power isolation so you can switch it off in landscape (save accidentally hitting a button) fits perfectly to my Eos camera body and is super secure, no wobble, not even a fraction of movement it just feels like it’s part of the body. Worked from the second I attached, no faffing , no issues. Let’s be honest if it lasts 6 months at this price I’ll be happy but I have a feeling it will last a lot longer. I will be putting it through its paces in the next 3 months In the video I show how the power switch works To isolate the buttons and how, once switched on, the shutter button wakes the camera and all the other buttons function just like they do on the main body.

Delighted.
Having recently bought a new EOS 700D (as a Christmas present to myself), and knowing I would be doing some fairly intense promotional work with it, I did some due diligence before buying a battery grip. There are a few about, but I shied away from a) Canon's own (way overpriced) and b) theLCD models (more stuff to go wrong). I settled on Neweer's model based largely on existing positive reviews. And I have to say, they're well-founded. Unpacking the grip from Neweer's fetchingly orange box, I was somewhat concerned at its light weight. But I bought the unit along with a pair of 2500mAh batteries since Canon only provides a rather wimpy 1120mAh with the camera. Once these were charged and snapped in, the unit felt much more solid and business-like. I haven't yet charged up a half-dozen AA's to form a backup unit with the included adapter, but I dare say that will add even more manly heft to it. The instructions for use are typical for a product at this price - a broadsheet of multiple languages and, at first glance, a plethora of confusing diagrams. However, the English section is written pretty well - it's clear and concise, and even explains (albeit briefly) how to detach the EOS' battery cover before attaching the grip. And the diagrams make sense when you progress through them carefully. Once I'd attached this grip, I held the whole assembly at arm's length and took a good look. The Neweer's finish is different from the 700D, but not in a bad way. While the EOS body is a matt black, the Neweer unit has a muted shine. The camera's grip areas are rough and hard, while the battery grip's are smoother but more rubbery. In good light, the difference is there. But the unit doesn't look particularly cheap on the camera. There's a telltale seam on one side, which no doubt Canon's version doesn't have. But for 80 quid less, I'm easy. Besides, that one deficit is muted by the care Neweer have taken to ensure their unit moulds perfectly into the camera's contours. It's clearly been designed very well, if produced on a budget. What Neweer has also done is perfectly replicate Canon's font and colours for the feature buttons they've included - which can be easily enabled/disabled, ready for when you want to go 90 degrees and take a vertical shot. The crucial shutter button feels exactly like the camera's. The main dial on the battery grip actually iterates a bit more smoothly and quietly than the camera's own. The other buttons are more recessed in comparison, but reply with a definite 'click' when you press them. Performance-wise, I can't fault this unit. I spent three hours at a play rehearsal yesterday, took some 150 shots and the EOS still tells me I have pretty much a full charge. I know that's down to the batteries, but the ease with which I could switch from landscape to portrait and basically just play about with what felt like a really great balanced piece of gear.. well, as you can tell. I like it. Full marks to Neweer.

Great for this price.
I have been using this NEEWER battery grip now for just over a week with my EOS 550D and I have to say it is great. Fits well and it comes with a battery holder for two Canon LP-E8 batteries and one for six AA batteries. Working great for time-laps work. The build quality it OK and as yet I have no problems. The plastic body does feel a bit cheap, but not too bad. The rubberised grip on the base feels good and looks like it will be reasonably hard wearing. Compared to price of the Canon product, you can't go wrong with this.

Good quality
I did a lot of research before buying this grip and came to the conclusion that cheap third party products are perfectly fine and up to the task. The grip is good quality and all the buttons work well and the rubber feel to it makes it feel very secure in the hand. I have a canon 700d and this really bulks it up. I recently did a friends birthday party where I took over 1,200 shots and the twin battery pack showed no signs of giving up. The extra grip that this gave me on portrait shots was also what I wanted. The AA battery insert does not feel very good though and I struggled to get the AA batteries in and then they fell out each time I tried to put it in the grip. I have no intention of using it and only tried it out of curiosity. I use a side hand grip on the camera and it works so much better with the battery grip than without as it provides a second loop to attach it to at the bottom whereas without the battery grip it screws into the tripod screw which means that there is a plastic plate under your camera. So the grip works well and is well made and certainly adds bulk to the camera. Makes it look good to however it now does not fit in the bag that I have just bought!

Great Value Battery Grip for Canon EOS Cameras
The Neewer BG-E8 Replacement Battery Grip is an excellent addition for Canon EOS 550D, 600D, 650D, and 700D users. It significantly improves handling, especially during extended shoots or when using heavier lenses. The grip allows you to use two batteries simultaneously, doubling your shooting time. The build quality is solid, and the rubberized texture provides a secure, comfortable hold. The additional controls for vertical shooting, including the shutter button, work seamlessly and feel intuitive. For the price, this battery grip delivers fantastic functionality and reliability. Highly recommended for photographers looking to enhance their shooting experience without breaking the bank!

Great Quality & Value accessory
Works and fits great on my Canon EOS 600D. I wont repeat the same comments as are already here, but it fits perfectly, looks and feels the part, and quality is better than you would expect. I thought the on/off button switched the camera on/off, but it doesn't, it switches the buttons on the unit on/off for if you take portraits, then switch to landscape, it stops you accidentally hitting the shutter release, or other function buttons. good addition. I also like the fact there is a storage area (on the bit that goes into your cameras battery compartment) for the cameras battery cover flap that you need to remove to fix this battery grip on to the camera. It keeps the flap safe and you should never lose it. another nice touch... As some other reviewers wrote, it balances the camera especially with long lens's and gives you more grip. The only negative, is that it wont fit in my camera bag with this fitted, but i guess i will just get another bigger bag. I would suggest getting a hand grip/strap for this too, as it enables one handed camera operation in portrait mode. Get one! its a must for every EOS600D owner.

Gripping stuff
No surprises here. This product is very cool at an unbeatable price. You need to remove the battery cover flap of your camera in order to install this attachment, I was happy to discover they even made a place for you to store the battery cover flap so you do not lose it. I have not needed to use the extra battery housing that could be used with AA type batteries although its a most welcome addition just in case... It's a snug fit and matches the camera very well and functions as would be expected. I definitely appreciate the ability to shoot for longer between battery changes as I shoot video, although for stills photography this is less important My only whinge is that I now have to buy a bigger kit bag if I intend to leave it attached to the camera when packing up after a shoot

Double your battery capacity !!!
I'm really happy with this product! I was using a Canon EOS 700D before and the battery grip that came with it stopped working after a while. I decided to get this one as a replacement and it works great! It's very easy to install and use and it makes my camera feel a lot more sturdy. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
