This heat press looks really good, is it easy to handle when using?

Yes it's really easy to use and heats up fast. Just not as hot as a big iron and doesn't steam. So small projects and quick needs it will be good for. Even young teens this would be a great first iron for.

can I use this on a large heat transfer? It’s about 10“ x 10“

I dont see why you couldnt! Its small and convienient to use as I dont have to drag out my big iron

Would this be useful for perler bead projects? I usually use my iron on the cotton setting and get a good melt.

I do think it would be useful. The only that I think might tricky it’s having constant pressure over the project and holding to long in one spot then the melt could appear off. I think for peeler bead project maybe a small heat press 9x9 depending on the size of your projects might be the way to go! Then you could set it over your whole project and all the beads melt together in one pass.
