What would you do if an unknown relative left you a lot of money when they died? Embrace it or give it away? Cordelia knows she was adopted but she had a wonderful set of parents & never felt unwanted. Now her biological dad has died & left her his half of a hugely successful private aviation business. Alec Sullivan, the other partner, is willing to buy her out & does everything he can to make the situation easier on her. She's not prepared for the emotions Alec brings out.Alec can't believe Gordon kept a secret from him. They were there for each other since Alec was young. Gordon was more of a father to him than his real father was. When he met Cordelia, the sparks began to fly. He wanted to do everything he could go make the situation easier for her. He tried to protect her from himself too. He wasn't going to commit to one person, ever. It caused too many problems.Bella Andre has given us another great story in the Sullivan saga. These can be read as stand alone but you understand the family synergy better if you at least read the others in the New York group. The characters are well developed but at first Alec & Cordelia don't seem to fit at all. Alec is on a journey of self discovery. He needs to find a way to make peace with his past & discover what he truly wants from life. Another great book that makes you think!

You Do Something To Me: The Sullivans Book 17 is by Bella Andre. This is a continuation of the Sullivan series. This family is a large extended family where all of the family is wealthy. That in itself does cause some problems. However, being rich is not without its problems.Alex Sullivan does not like surprises and does not like his Father. He had been forced at the age of five to take care of his siblings, Harry and Drake and Suzanne. Alex blamed his Father for not being able to stop his Mother from her destructive behavior. Now the others are grown up and doing well as is Alex. Alex was mentored by Gordon Whitley and they were partners in S&W Aviation. The company was doing quite well as was Alex’s personal life. That came to a halt when Alex discovered Gordon in his office dead of a heart attack. Devastated over his friend’s death, Alex was blindsided by Gordon’s will. Gordon left half of S&W to his daughter, Cordelia Langley. Gordon had never mentioned having a daughter. Now she owned one half of the company! Not if Alex had his way!Cordelia Langley loved her small, thriving nursery business. She loved helping her customers purchase items to place in their yards or helping them create a great landscape for their property. As the daughter of two school teachers, she was not wealthy; but had a wonderful life with her adoptive parents. Now, she learns who her Father is and that she has a billion-dollar stake in an aviation company. She had no desire to learn anything about her biological father and doesn’t even now. She doesn’t want the money, just wants out. She braces herself as she looks at the imposing building, takes a breath, and enters.Sounds like an easy solution- he wants to buy her out and she wants out. However, suddenly, Alex doesn’t like the easy solution. He feels the need to help her cope with her inheritance before letting her lose with it. What can this lead to?

This story was such a nice surprise. I've been a Sullivans fan for a while (hello, this is book 17 I'm reading) but the New York branch hadn't enthralled me like the San Francisco (my favourite) or even the Seattle branch did; that's why I'd added the book when it was released in 2017 but hadn't felt too interested in reading it until now and boy, am I glad I finally read it.Alec Sullivan is the oldest of the New York Sullivans, and the most pessimistic and cynic when it comes to love. All of a sudden he meets Cordelia and yes, he feels gobsmacked by attraction and love and oh wow, hope and dreams? And so a fantastic journey begins.It was funny and lovely seeing Alec shedding his walls to let Cordelia in. It was refreshing to see two main characters communicating and no cliché drama to split them apart. Bless you, Bella Andre. And of course, it was incredible seeing a bit of my favourite San Francisco Sullivans in the book. Double bless you, Bella Andre.You Do Something to Me indeed did something to me... I'm filled with gooey feelings and corny smiles. Bella Andre once again delivered a satisfying love story.

He doesn’t do relationships and is shocked at his emotional reaction to her stunning looks and impressive demeanor. Uncharacteristically, he wants to know her better before offering her a buy out, which is far from the professional way he has always done business.Alec and Cordelia’s journey of self discovery is so beautifully written you’ll want to read it again and again. I know I will. Kudos Ms. Andre for another brilliant book in the saga of the Sullivans.

I never expected to find out that Alec Sullivan, the grumpy, irritable, dark, mysterious and sexy oldest Sullivan, would turn out to be such a romantic! Losing his best friend and business partner is a blow, then finding out Gordon left his half of the business to the daughter Alec never knew he had, what the hell? Cordelia Langley never knew her bio dad, so why would her leave her a fortune worth billions? She’s a simple woman, running a simple garden and nursery loving her life until it gets turned upside down.Cordelia is a strong, beautiful woman who just might prove to Alec that he is more then capable of love, if he would just look deep into himself. Spending time in her garden is a happy place for both, he just needs to learn how to forgive and move forward. One concern, will he get over himself before it’s too late? Have a Kleenex avail unless you have a heart of stone, you will need it! This was a sexy, heartfelt story that I absolutely loved! Check it out today!

Bella Andre does it again. The Sullivan’s Family we love just keeps getting better. Alec Sullivan and Cordelia Langley is a sweet and heartwarming love story. Cordelia understands Alec better than any other woman ever has and she touches him inside and has him dealing with emotions he has buried and let anger festered towards his father after his mother committed suicide and left him to be in charge of his younger siblings and he was 5 years old himself at the time. His father was in so much grief over losing his wife he didn’t think about his children emotions at the time. By the time he starts to make amends with the other children Alec won’t have anything to do with his father he has already closed his emotions off.His business partner Gordon Whitley had a daughter in which he gave up for adoption when his wife had giving birth.Bella Andre had written a beautiful love story of two lost souls who were destined to be together and understand each other from the beginning.This book is most definitely worth reading and I’ve got to say Alec has become one of my favorite Sullivan’s.

Sweetly sexy, emotionally thrilling and highly Sullivan romantic adventure. This story is everything we have come to expect from a Sullivan romance and so much more.Alec Sullivan is sexy, smart, charming and always believed that he was gonna be the eternal bachelor. Then his world is tilted on its ear when his business partner passes and leaves everything to Cordelia a daughter he did not know about. Cordelia is sweet, sassy and happy living her life never guessing she would inherit a fortune or be confronted by the sexiest man alive because of it. The attraction is instant and thrilling, loved every heart pounding moment.

Another Sullivan home run. As much as you would think you would get tired of this family. Bella Andre provides a beautiful story that makes you what to read and the close net group.I really love this story and how it can together. I did get tired of her always willing to be there. Really thought she should she could’ve had another love interest who she saw solely as friend or could have been scouting other locations for her new business venture.

I really loved this book!Could'nt put this one down before the end!It's very easy to follow because of the very well written storyline, it's got some strong characters, lots of emotions, a bitof drama, sizzling moments, some secrets here and there and riveting dialogues.Highly recommended book - can't wait to read the rest of the series !!

I loved the hero and heroine. Strong characters and a great family in the Sullivan's. The garden Centre was unique.

I love the Sullivan's and Bella Andre always delivers a wonderful and emotional romance, with the right amount of heat and family. 'You Do Something to Me' is a standalone story but highly recommend the series if you haven't started on the Bella Andre journey yet.Alec is a great leading man - he doesn't believe in love, he has thrown himself into his business and is distant. However in 'You Do Something to Me' we see a completely different side to this beautiful and complex man. The book opens with Gordon, his best friend and business partner who has been like a father to him passing away unexpectedly. Gordon however has left a surprise - a daughter.Enter Cordelia, the daughter that nobody knew about. She was adopted when she was very young and Gordon kept her a secret up until his death when his half of the company is left to her. Wanting to buy Cordelia out, their first meeting doesn't go anything like how Alec expected as he assumed it would be an easy transaction but he is immediately drawn to the beautiful woman who is his complete opposite. 'From the window, he’d thought she was merely pretty. But now he knew that had been a dire miscalculation. Because the undeniable truth was that she looked like a breath of fresh air on a perfect blue-sky day.' Aahhhh SIGH...Cordelia is independent and strong & she and Alec are perfectly matched... So begins a beautiful and sexy love story. Another 5 Stars...

I love all the characters in the sullivan series but Alec & Cordelia's story really got to me,the love of his best friend and the fractured family elements really did leave me hanging onto my kindle at times.Another fantastic read by Bella Andre and cant wait for Harrys story.

Bella Andre comes up with another heart warming romance involving the Sullivan family, this time it is Alec in New York.No one could be more surprised or stunned than cool, collected Alec Sullivan, to meet and be totally attracted to Cordelia.She is the secret daughter, named as heir when Alec's business partner, Gordon suddenly died.Deciding that he will just buy her out and get on with his life, Alec can't deny a need to keep seeing this beautiful, amazing woman, with whom he has nothing in common.Anyone who has enjoyed a Bella Andre romance, will have probably enjoyed the Sullivan family before.They are a huge family with many talented members. Its like going home, to be back amongst them again.
