Is this product scented?

No scent. Great stuff! Cleans well, no streaks!

"Film is...water soluble" -- does that mean I don't have to cut the plastic wrap off the tablets? Does it dissolve in the dishwasher?

Yes, which is why you should pick it up with dry hands or else you'll get water in the box and the tablets will stick together, or they'll melt in your hands.

Will this work with hard well water?

It has worked decently well with our hard water for 4-5 months, and a splash of white vinegar (over the silverware before starting). We do pre-rinse the food off in the sink though.
