Solid headphones overall, great for gaming.
After using them for a bit, I quite like them! The sound quality is solid and they have the spatial audio you should expect from gaming headsets. Voices can sometimes sound a little lower quality, but not terrible. The connectivity options are great, but the 2.4 ghz dongle does occasionally briefly lose connection and go to static, and while I'd expected the extra "chatmix" dial to be usable to balance between the BT and 2.4ghz devices when not connected to their program, it doesn't seem to.They are very comfortable.I don't like the fact that I can't seem to have the microphone unmuted without hearing passthrough, double pressing the power button is what the guides say disables passthrough but I can't get that to work.

Steel Series Arctis Nova 7X
Bought to replace a Turtle Beach headset that my brother had from Xbox One and had given to me.Set up:The Nova 7X headset was easy to set up; simply adjusted the headstrap where I needed it, plugged the dongle into my Series X with the extension cable provided, and turned on the headset. Just make sure that the toggle on the dongle is set to Xbox for Xbox and USB for everything else (PC, PS5, Switch, etc.) The headset sounds pretty good out of the box, however, seem to be what I would call "tingy" without making adjustments on PC. After I connected to PC, I set up the headset using Sonar on the Steel Series software that's free to download from their site, but I don't think that translated to the xbox. What did, however, was the EQ settings because I set it to Bass Boost and it seems to have gotten rid of the "tingy" sound I was experiencing previously.Battery life:The battery life is phenomenal. I would say getting 38 hours or more is absolutely possible. I have had the headset for over a week now and charged it for the first time last night and it only seemed to take a couple hours to get to full charge. I was wearing the headset throughout the week watching youtube, playing games, etc. trying to get it to die. May vary from person to person as I typically work 9-10 hour days and worked 4 days last week while obviously not using the headset.Microphone:It's a mic. My brother says that he can hear me more clearly than when I wore my previous headset, but it is a Steel Series mic, so take that with a grain of salt.Features:The volume and chat mixer rollers (volume on left ear, chat mixer on right) are recessed which is great for sitting back in a recliner or on a couch and not having to worry about volume getting messed with by previously mentioned furniture (which was a problem for me with the Turtle Beach headset that I upgraded from.) Power, Bluetooth, and Mute buttons respond well and do exactly as they are meant to. Mic retracts into the left ear which is great when you want to watch something and not have a mic in your face. The headstrap and ear cushions have been great in my experience. I wear glasses and the headset feels very comfortable despite this. (In contrast, the Turtle Beach headset kind of dug into and rubbed the top of my head during extended gaming sessions. I also felt the part of my glasses just above my ear getting pushed into my ear by same headset.)Customization:I like that the headstrap, ear cushions, and magnetic side plates can be swapped out. Not only for the customization of it, but also the longevity of being able to swap the headstrap and ear cushions in the event of wear and tear.Weight:Comparable with the Turtle Beach headset, but I'd say the Nova 7Xs are a bit lighter. Conclusion:I am really enjoying the Nova 7X headset so far and I would definitely say it's an excellent choice for a headset, especially at $150 USD. Sound quality, battery life, and comfortability seemed to definitely be in mind when they designed this headset. It certainly feels like a lot of thought was put into this headset by Steel Series. Good job, Steel Series. I look forward to buying more of your products in the future, especially if this much thought of the user's experience is put into them. 10/10. Amazing headset. Amazing experience.

I am truly blown away by how good these feel
I will always prefer wireless speakers, I can move around and not worry about accidentally ripping my cord out. I used to have some Turtle beach headphones that were amazing but the cord used to always be my issue. After many variations of different headphones I decided to try a Steel Series since I have seen them talked about by Linus Tech Tips. Here are my thoughts:1. Immediately as I took them out I found them very small looking compared to my previous headphones. I normally require pretty large headphones since I have a large head.2. Upon putting the headphones on I noticed that they were insanely comfortable, the ear cups were just right for my ears, the even turned a bit to actually fit flat on my ears, the cushion was extremely comfortable. The only issue I had was to pull them down a bit was very stiff but once that was done it was great from there. This really shocked me as I am accustomed to larger headphones requiring time to adjust to but these immediately I felt comfortable.3. Connectivity - There are two types of connections, one using the usb dongle and the other being bluetooth. After trying to parse the manual, I eventually discovered that there are two buttons for power, one for bluetooth and one for the usb dongle. The initial setup with the usb dongle worked smoothly. Bluetooth worked fine the first time and then I ran into an issue trying to pair it to a second device. After some googling I realized that the bluetooth had two modes, one mode just turning it on and another for pairing mode (for pairing you have to hold it down for about 10 seconds). After I figured that out it worked like a charm.4. Sound Quality - The headphones sound amazing, either that or I just been using crappy headphones for too long. There wasn't too much base and it was clear as can be, there is even a noise cancelling effect when you wear them.5. Long term connectivity - I did notice that the connectivity dropped once on me but I am not sure if it had something to do with me being out of range a bit or the call I was getting on my phone. I haven't noticed anything since.6. Price - They are a bit pricey but so far I think they are worth the money and I am looking forward to see how durable they are.Overall, these are great headphones and I enjoy them immensely.
