This remote is very laggy and doesn't work well, but since our original remote has been temporarily misplaced, it is the only way that we can use our firestick. The volume control doesn't work at all, but we can at least choose which feature to watch, even if it often requires a bunch of selecting back and forth because it doesn't respond promptly. After a few moments, I mistakenly think that the unit didn't receive the signal, because nothing happens, then I try again and both actions finally come though, pushing my selection passed what I want. While inconvenient, it is better than nothing.

Lifesaver! My children have lost so many remotes that we had to download the app. But I wanted a physical remote for our guest room. Clicked a few buttons and a new remote was here in hours. ♥️

Obviously it gets the job done and works as a replacement for the remote that i’m pretty sure a tinder date stole from my living room. Only problem is every time i turn back on my tv or click the remote after it’s gone to sleep it shows this update message for like 5-15 minutes. Every. Time. Is it a stupid peeve? Yeah, but also it’s going drive me insane so i know others it probably will too.

Tech savvy user here 😊. This remote works for 1st gen Fire cube. Key points: -Remotes and Controllers to setup -Equipment Control to add/setup tv and other device control Upon adding the remote, it indicates that an update is needed but will not perform. It does not affect performance so continue forward to equipment control to setup tv/volume/ input control (software wizard does this for you). If you don't add on equipment control, those functions will not work. Very pleased, this is my 2nd try at buying a replacement and baby this is a winner! Thanks.

There are so many replacement Amazon remotes out there and it seemed this one had some good reviews, so I purchased it. So far it is working exactly like the original Amazon remote with my fire cube.- I will update this review later if any issues show up. One thing I did differently was not following the pairing instructions that came with the remote, I used the fire cube method by going to settings, add a new remote and paired it that way. I literally took 2 mins to pair. Not sure if that helps as I did see some complaints about the pairing in some of the reviews.
