I was skeptical about buying this top cause I've heard customer service sucks and all the other things everyone not picks. I put off buying it for 6 months or so and was tired of my seats getting soaked all the time with just a bikini top on. Haha. So I ordered it. Got it in 4 days. Packaged nicely and set in the sun for a few hours. (woke up early from getting off graveyard shift and went back to sleep) you shouldn't need to set it in the sun or warm area for that long. But I had no trouble putting it on by myself. Took 15 minutes with just me putting it on. The snapsare pretty secure. I was expecting zipper problems with something so cheap and none. No issues what so ever. Only had it on for a day but can't complain. Everything fits nicely a little quotes than the old top I had. Doesn't come with a tailgate bar but I had the old one. I knew it wouldn't come with one but would have been nice to have a new one. But I would recommend it to anyone wanting a cheaper top. I like the tinted windows. Not as dark as I would want but they are tinted atleast. Waiting till I throw the doors back on to put the front windows on.

Installed in about 3 hours because it was 60 degrees outside. Most of my time spent was on the doors. The rest of the top was very easy. Everything went on with a very tight fit. The upper doors were a different story.Tip for those struggling with the doors, I got the door on easily using this order for the corners:1. Lower rear corner2. Lower front corner3. Upper rear corner4. Upper front cornerThe rest of the top is pretty straight forward. Install from front to back of the Jeep.To get the buttons on, with them on front to back, while folding the flap UP so you can actually press it in. Once they’re clipped on, tuck away that flap.Good luck.

Fit perfectly on my old frame and channel

I purchased this replacement top for my 1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ. My previous top was many years old and in need of replacement. I read through the many reviews on Amazon for several different top options including Bestop RAT, Rampage, Sierra Offroad, and Pavement Ends tops. The best reviews seemed to belong to this Smittybilt top so I decided to purchase it. The top is extremely nice, great quality, and made my Jeep look new again. The fit is excellent and is better than previous Bestop Replace A Top. The top fits tightly, has normal road noise on the highway, and does not flap against the frame bars when driving. I would recommend this top to anyone if I was asked.

This top has very light and cheap zippers. The top also does not fit good. Second crappy part from Smitty built, I will never buy another product from them again

The short answer is that this top wasn't bad for the price. If I paid more, I would be upset. Here's why:- The zipper stop fell off during installation when it got jammed. This took a few teeth with it. The zippers in general are sub standard, not YKK or equivalent for sure.- Black denim is not quite as nice as just plain black; there is grey coloring weaved in throughout so be advised.- Windows are great quality and clear. Window zipper pulls like to jingle around regardless of their position on the track. Zipper bumpers can fix this and are super cheap.- Instructions were good.- Installation was a little tricky but let's face it... what isn't temperamental on a YJ?Final Thoughts:1) When they say let it sit in the sun for a while, they aern't kidding.2) Go in order, the sequence is there for a reason, otherwise it will fight you all the way.3) Bestop makes a better RAT (Replace-A-Top) but it costs much more, and you get what you pay for. If you're just going to screw it up wheeling then yeah, go for this thing!

so far so good, I'll update the review after I've had it on for a while. went on fairly easy and makes the jeep look like new! lots of wind noise but so did the old top. no leaks anywhere everything packs nicely all zippers work great. best to leave the back end of the top loose put the windows in and have everything ready to go then have the jeep hardware to pull everything tight. hardest part was the upper door windows and fitting the frame inside you almost need 2 people for the initial stretch.

I set the top in the sun for a couple hours to soften up and installed with little issues. My only gripe with the top is that the zippers on the side panels zip UP to close so they just work their way back down. I added small tie wire to keep them from coming down while driving. I don't understand why they wouldn't zipper DOWN to close.Now for the upper doors,... what a pain. Fought them for almost an hour yesterday and my hands are still hurting today. Gor them on but the gasket/weatherstripping os so big that it doesn't allow the door to shut, I have to flex the door frame out and tuck the weatherstripping in then force the top of the door closed. I tried adjusting the door skin around a bit but can't seem to make it any better. Maybe others have had better luck with it but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to use my doors now.
