Is the probe submersible? I want to measure DO in the lower portions on a pond without having to try to capture samples.

The probe is submersible but not the top controller part. I spliced in a piece of 4 conductor cable to get it deeper.

Does this work in the mountains at 5,000 feet elevation?

The manual says it does not compensate for altitude/pressure. Only temperature. Its unclear if it would work properly at 5,000 feet.

Does it come with a calibration solution or, how do you make anaerobic water?

I bought this thing recently for transporting fish/trout. Couple things to note I have found. No Calibration solution. I find it odd that the way you calibrate is against outside air. You calibrate it in air or zero it out against air. Then use it. I also found that it needs to be calibrated every use. I may try calibrating in a solution of saturated C02 ( in other words take all the oxygen out ) but I have no way of knowing just exactly when that may be. The temperature ( and if indeed the DO is accurate ) takes over a minute to be the same accuracy as analog pool thermometer. IDK if I ultimately trust this thing based on some things here. Does not make sense readings of 3mg/L in water supporting trout, when they need 6+ or they'd be jumping out of water and dying. So, not convinced the thing can be calibrated correctly in order to read correctly. Hope this answers any questions.
