SM35 Performance Headset Condenser Microphone for Hands-Free Audio, TQG Connector for use with Wireless Systems - Bodypack Transmitter Sold Separately (SM35-TQG)

I bought this as a replacement for a Shure PGA31 microphone that I'm using with a BLX4 wireless system. This one seems to have more off-axis sound rejection, since I wasn't hearing nearly as much crowd noise through my microphone. I also felt like it was clearer and had more headroom. My P31 would often saturate when I was singing in my upper range. I never heard this one do that. My s's also seemed more crisp.I wore it for a 4 hour bar set, as I was previously doing with my PGA31. This got really painful towards the end of the night, and I ended up pulling down my hat to put the pad underneath my hat for some padding. My P31 is pretty old, so it might be more formed to my head. I don't remember that one ever hurting though, but I wasn't typically playing 4 hour gigs back when that was new.Overall, this was a good upgrade for my PGA31.

For $100, these generally sound GREAT. - Much better than the $600 Countryman I bought. - although they are much larger and heavier. They do seem to have a bit of self-noise as the specs indicate. However, I am using these for all my guest speakers, and they work well enough. - especially for $100. They have a Cardioid pattern and reject feedback as well or better than anything else I have tried including the directional Countryman. Particularly, if you need feedback rejection, you might give them a try. I have not found any directional headset mics that sound as good - even with EQ. - I use no EQ on these. That makes it easy if I need to connect one to an open channel on my sound board. They are ready to go with no EQ.

Sound is clear but singers will need some post processing due to being shy on the low frequency end. Output is strong.Deal breaker for me is that the mic boom isn't long enough for big heads.

Shure makes good equipment works well

Parts for fitness instructors are very hard to find. If you work for LA Fitness, and you confirm that the device/receiver in your club is indeed a SHURE brand device - this is by far the best, and most current option for you to avoid the drama of broken, and worse, smelly and disgusting headsets. (The lycra bands are filled with bacteria and are not washable). Do yourself a favor and BUY THIS for yourself. It plugs into the gym's battery pack, and will "connect" your voice wirelessly to the main club system. The old bending section to go around your chin that breaks all the time is REDESIGNED on this version and is pretty perfect and stays in place. The MOUTHPIECE comes off with a plastic snap (no dirty sponges that tear) and comes with 2. The band on top is a modern absorbent plastic and can be wiped down easily if instructors need to share, it's sanitary and not gross. I have recently been a part of 3 new expansion LA Fitness club openings and this is the headpiece set used at all of them. I have also tested mine at older clubs with older models as old as 2009 installations. I am recommending this to all coaches and instructors without hesitation. Years of stress and aggravation on this type of equipment is now over. Just find a special bag or case to store it in your workout bag - it's not meant to be crushed and abused by shoes and various things we carry around, it's delicate, but very sturdy.

We bought so many unit from shure for our different businesses, those headset are the worse, we tried the fitness version, and the SM35 and they have the same issues over and over and over again after a few weeks of use (like the last one we got less than a month) the sound get cut every time the cable at the battery pack connection moves, which for a headset its a lot..... for the price of the system and wanted to be like fitness and activity focus this is absolutely ridiculous

After more than a year of weekly use it still sounds clear and works perfectly with our shure system

Please be aware when buying this one is that it doesn't come with the XLR adapter and its not easy to find a suitable one similar to what they would've provided if you choose the XLR version

This is one of the best sounding and nicest wireless microphone I ever used. Only issue I have is it doesn't have a switch to mute or turn it off . Otherwise I am more than pleased.
