It worked well for me... What's the problem?
Listen: this is designed for thicker paper, and for multiple layers. If you're having issues, you're not using it right. Used this to make about 20 price tags the other day. Every single one came out right because I was using that thick cardstock paper to make the tags. So what's the problem? You can safely ignore the negative reviews, my opinion.AND KEEP THIS THING AWAY FROM KIDS AND LOCKED WHEN YOU AREN'T USING IT!!!!

Punched card stock a little jagged.
I got this product to use on some card stock circles to save time cutting them out. I would think that would be a piece of cake considering it’s for thicker material. It punched a little jagged.

Don't waste your money
Updated to Add: I tried this on cardboard, and it works great, so I guess is does what it says BUT the specs should include some THICKNESS MEASUREMENT of what it will/won't cut and/or is best suited for instead of examples of materials that could be any thickness. Also, cutting 1/8 inch to the edge of the material is still way too close.Original Review:I purchased this to cut TerraSlate 7mil paper which I know full well isn't as thick as the balsa wood it claims to cut. I chose this one over other options because of the Fiskars name/reputation. The image speaks for itself -- that was our third attempt, so it's not like the thing has been overused or abused. For what it's worth, our first attempt was plain paper, and it cut that fine, but this one costs more for "thick" material. Don't waste your money. Also, if you're cutting something printed, be aware that you need to pre-trim your material VERY close in order to cut. Again, see image. I didn't expect it be an "anywhere" punch, but, gosh, a 1/4 inch doesn't seem too much to ask?!Returning it.

Not what I expected
The Fischer’s 2” punch was greatly disappointing. I bought it to punch out 2” circular photos from photo paper for a birthday project. The punch work well for 5 photos the began to malfunction. The punch would not make the 2” punch cleanly but mashed the edges repeatedly requiring the photos to be hand cut. Not wanting to risk damage to the photos, I cut the photos by hand. Bummer. Perhaps it would work ok with copy paper, but my project wasn’t using copier paper. I cannot recommend this punch for serious project people.

Such a Disappointment
Was so excited to find this, but on very first use on cotton cross-stitch fabric it JAMMED. It not only would not cut at all, but as another reviewer said, I could not even pry it open to try it again. I sent it back with the fabric still in the jaws. Such a disappointment. When will I learn to listen to reviews?

DOES NOT CUT A FULL CIRCLE!!!!
DOES NOT CUT A FULL CIRCLE!!!! I tried plane printer paper, card stock, fabric, etc. There is a 30 degree area on the circle that does not cut through!

Punches come out clean!
The star punch arrived on time and as described. The punches came out clean on regular paper, cardstock, and even on foam sheets! I didn't try it on anything thicker as my main use for it will be for scrapbooking and crafts. I would purchase from this seller again! Thank you!

Would not even cut thin felt.
Went to the fiskars website for help. This item is not listed there. The blade looks jagged - I couldn't even close the lid. When I unlatched it, it popped up very great force. Very unfortunate because I need a cutter that cuts fabric.
