Does this Dig sprinkler timer hold up over time? (for anyone who has had this time for over a year)

mine just died after 3.5 years. I use it to refill the pool water for 10 minutes, three times per week. I cost me $2/mon over its lifetime.

Does it work with a brass 3/4" sprinkler valve

Should I use teflon tape on the threads when installing?

Now I always used a bit of teflon tape; you do not have too and I didn't use it on my first ones but it does make removal easier and it can help seal especially of the pipes are older. I would say it is optional.
