Great vinyl pressing
Great on vinyl with a really clean pressing. California Crossing was my favorite but I couldn't find this streaming so I ordered it. Now this is # 1 for sure.

Rifftastic
I initially bought some Fu Manchu albums on CD during the late 90s, never really took to them even though I did like say Kyuss or Nebula, who's core members were formerly of Fu Manchu. In the past few years I've pulled those CDs out for a revisit, this is something I often do. And I really got right into them, great driving music, wall to wall riffs and songs about classic muscle cars souped up vans. So, I have spent the past two years picking up the bands back catalogue on record, top band with a very consistent back catalogue, and while many tout this as their best one I still think that King of the Road and California Crossing edge it, but it's tight.

'Action...' is bang on!
Fu Manchu are an institution, and this is definitely one of their better albums. In fact, it's an absolute corker. Recorded not long after guitarist Eddie Glass and drummer Ruben Romano jumped ship to form Nebula, The Action is Go saw the 'Chu welcome aboard legendary ex-Kyuss drummer, Brant Bjork - easily one of the finest living sticksmen in stoner rock - and his presence here does this record wonders. With their thunderous riffs, prolapse-inducing bass and Scott Hill's unmistakeable Californian drawl, Fu Manchu succeed in whisking you off to another place: a place where everyone has a permanent grin plastered across their face and Vans slip-ons on their feet. A place where everyone is ridiculously good at skateboarding and the topic of conversation is always centred on UFO sightings and various other conspiracy theories. In short, a place far, far away from here! These days, of course, stoner rock is hardly the most innovative sound around, and as for vocalist Scott Hill... well, put it this way - Mike Patton he ain't. But that would be missing the point. In addition, what The Action... has (that later albums perhaps lacked) is that 'otherworldly' quality that makes music of any genre so special. Best tracks? All of 'em! You really only really need one Fu Manchu album - but you do need one - and I strongly recommend The Action is Go.Matt Pucci

Time to release the hatch..
What they do not tell you is that the vinyl is coloured! Grey for slab #1, and baby pink for record #2. Beautiful stuff. And an amazing album too!
