It's surprisingly hard to find light socket electrical adapters that are 3-prong. I presume that's because you don't want to take the chance that the light socket you are screwing it into isn't actually grounded.I bought this to plug in a garage door opener, where the cord would reach only a nearby light socket and not an actual outlet. Its cord was 3-prong. Was very happy to find this, and now I don't have to drape an extension cord along the garage.

Works great. Used these to add LEDs to my garage door opener. Went from 2 60 watts bulbs to 2 LED light strips at 40 watts and have way more light.

They do the trick but probably are not UL rated since they include an unconnected ground pin socket. So the unit effectively functions as a ground-lifter. Be aware that any three-prong device connected to a lamp socket adapter like this IS NOT GROUNDED!! Otherwise quality plastuc and well made.

These are great for my halloween decor. I Installed a projector outside on my front porch and it withstood the harsh weather of the desert. Easy to install. Fits most ligthbulb sockets. it works great for what i needed. It is sturdy piece of equipment. Good quality.

No issues installing. Wanted to hang Christmas lights this year and did not have an outside outlet. This solved that problem!

Didn’t work for me. I wanted it to put Christmas lights in my frig pretending the Elf did it.
