Does small version also support latest rc controller? picture of small case shows old rc controller.

Yes I have the newest version of the DJI controller, and mine fit in there fine.

Will landing legs fit under the drone when stored in case?

Not without cutting on the foam. My collapsible landing legs when removed fold down enough to fit in the right hand corner by the hinge or back of the case.

is is easy to remove the RC controller from the space ? had to return my last case as it was way to tight.

Yes. Very easy unless you have huge fingers. Have to remove controller knobs. Worth it.
