Indispensable buy any time I get one of my 5 TB Western Digitals. It's really great: the exterior is solid but not inflexible, so it protects the drive, the interior has space for the drive and the connecting chord and the entire thing is compact and fits easily into my backpack.

Great to have if you don’t want to lose your hard drive at the bottom of your bag and possibly lose your hard drive. Portability is great, appearance is normal. Ease to use. Durability is great.

Great portable hard drive if needed more space.

I have purchased several of these type products for my electronics. The look of the Amazon Basics is nice. The zipper is sturdy and is easy to zip or unzip. The inside is padded well and I like the orange fabric inside (usually you find black fabric) so it makes it easy to see what is inside the case. Overall the product seems to be well made and my external harddrive fits well including the cords that come with it. My 4 stars is because it is not a hard case like others I have purchased. Most of the others I have the case is hard so it won't crush easily. Amazon's is kind of soft-sided, so I can easily push down on it and feel it crush. This is a bit disappointing as I feel safer with the harder cases especially if I have to travel. But the case does offer better protection than nothing at all or putting in a plastic baggie or other alternatives. It also keeps things looking better organized than anything else I have found so far. Inside there is a velcro strap to keep the harddrive in place so it doesn't move around and a mesh pouch to hold the cords and other items securely. The price is good and I really don't have any complaints. I do have a suggestion though. It would be great to have a place to put a tag on them so you can tell what is in the case without opening it. I have so many of these now that I don't remember what is in which bag (plus almost all the cases are black on the outside) I may have to find some tags to attach to the zipper.

I think the internal dimensions are actually a little greater than advertised because this case fits the Seagate STGX2000400 portable USB hard drive with room to spare but the advertised dimensions make it sound like it would be a tight fit. Perhaps the drive is smaller than advertised (I did not measure either the case or the hard drive). I asked and Amazon said the case would accommodate that drive, so I bought the case and the drive did indeed fit. The case seems to be very well made and is a nise design with a little elastic band edged net pouce inside to hold accessories like a USB cable. The price is right too!

This is my second Amazon Basics External Hard Drive Case — and for good reason. It’s sturdy, compact, and fits my drive perfectly with room for cables. The zipper is smooth, and the padding gives great protection. Reliable quality at a great price. I’d happily buy a third!

Perfect, sturdy little case. Use it to protect a WD drive while travelling, and it's been fine. Taken a few knocks but WD has been fine.
