Napoleon Cast Iron Charcoal and Smoker Tray – Fits Most Napoleon Grills

Love that you can put bulk charcoal and use the gas burners to get it started. I used large lump coals to reduce the ashes. Recommend putting an aluminum catch pan or foil underneath to catch the ashes as i'll be doing this from now on. After the first use the coating seemed to have come off a bit but doesn't really matter. I did have to refill the charcoal a few times during my long cookout.

I would recommend giving this a shot. I would say it does is function. The smoking won't be as good as a smoker but that's do to the shape of my grill. A purpose focused grill will always be better. But for cooking over charcoal is spot on.

I always wanted a gas grill and my husband couldn't give up the coals, now we unbelievably have solution for both needs, turns up quickly and has great smoke flavour from the coals. Absolutely amazing.

Yes, this does allow you to use charcoal for part of a gas grill. I expect the customer will find the fit not ideal and the trouble to convert back and forth not worth the trouble. Good idea but probably not the ease you imagine.

I purchased this tray in January, 2026 after purchasing a Big 38 built in grill from Napoleon. The grill has been great, and the tray, once it was warm enough to use it (March, 2026) I found it very cool and fit perfectly and created a great charcoal grilling opportunity using the gas to light the charcoal. Unfortunately, I've used it 5 times and it has developed a crack, pictures attached. I would hope there would be some type of warranty or support for this. Other than the crack, which is an obvious issue, it has been great to have as a part of the grill system. BTW, the charcoal opportunity was one of the reasons I chose a Napoleon, in addition to offering a rotisserie and sear burner attachments, which really enables the full spectrum of grilling.

Liked it overall, but I'm hoping it doesn't fall during use on my Napoleon Rogue 4 burner XT series. It barely catches the ledges and is a very sketchy fit for this particular model.

Je l’attendais avec impatience ! Pouvoir cuire sa viande avec des briquettes dans un barbecue au gaz est vraiment une option assez incroyable. Produit reçu rapidement, sans aucune casse à signaler. C’est un vrai bonheur de retrouver de temps en temps le goût du charbon, tout en gardant le confort d’un barbecue au gaz. Le produit n’est pas parfaitement adapté à mon Napoléon Freestyle 465, mais il fonctionne tout de même très bien. Il faut simplement bien le positionner sur les brûleurs afin qu’il ne soit pas directement exposés, pour éviter que les cendres ne viennent boucher les trous des brûleurs. Très satisfait de mon achat, je recommande.

Converts a section of the LPG gas BBQW to a charcoal BBQ. The Tray also has a corner section with cast iron lid for adding smoking wood for an added taste sensation. I installed the dedicated charcoal tray in one third of the BBQ. The two burners under the tray lit the charcoal. Once charcoal alight and ready to cook the gas burners are turned off. Best of both worlds. I am leaving the charcoal tray in my BBQ as plenty of room to use the other half of my BBQ as a gas BBQ. Highly recommended
