Worked great, easy and safe if you follow instructions
These are good spring compressors. Used them on 2008 Sonata struts to replace the shock absorbers. Read the instructions and watch their YouTube video if you want a tutorial. A little grease on the threads wouldn't hurt but I skipped that and they worked fine. These will save you money as you only usually need to replace the shock portion of a strut anyway and as a bonus you can also avoid garbage quick struts. The oem springs, bumpers and mounts, etc are usually better quality that what a quick strut would supply and you save some money in the process. If you need new mounts just buy good ones when you order the shocks and install them when you swap over. I'll use these many times Im sure.

Worth the money
So I ended up buying two of these. The first has been just fine, but it is in storage far away at the moment. I used it to set some Bilstein 6112's and it managed, but was a little tough. The second set was to assemble a set of Dobinsons Struts and Springs. It handed those a bit better and made the job much easier to do.My thoughts? If you need a good spring compressor that is fairly safe and gets the job done, then this is the one for you

Tried to kill me but overall a good product and value
Solid compressors with one exception: the pins holding the top on. As I began to tighten down the springs on my SxS (250lb Eibach springs, nothing crazy) the pin sheared on one of the top hooks and hit me in the safety goggles. Hear that? Yes, I was wearing some Milwaukee safety goggles and they literally saved my eyesight, possibly my life.Ultimately, the sheared pin may have partially been my mistake. I’m not 100% sure of it but it may have been bottomed out which probably put a lot of tension on that pin? Should the pin have sheared so easily? Probably not. I was using a 1/2” ratchet by hand and it was low effort to turn the screw, maybe if I had been using an impact or something I could see overdoing it but I couldn’t fit any of my power tools in there.Overall though? After sliding a grade 10.9 M8 (maybe M6) shoulder bolt in there I was good to go and they worked wonderfully. The threads did get a bit marred from the unthreaded safety jaw for the lower coil and that made them a bit difficult to put back in the case. Cleaned up the threads with a file and they’ll be good to go for the next time. Be sure to mess around with the height adjustment before getting serious and it will make the job go a lot more smoothly.Taking off 1 star for the violent attack of the pin and the marred threads. At this price point though I would say it’s a good value.

Very satisfactory for the DIY mechanic's needs. Lock tight grip!
Well built and very sturdy. They managed to fit on a pair of small older model front struts and I felt very safe using this model. They worked perfectly and the clamps were thin enough to fit between the smaller coil spring spaces. Not once did they feel like they would slip.

Safe and easy to use.
Used it to replace my shocks and install new lowering springs on a Mazda CX5, and it worked great. I've heard lots of bad stories about doing this work yourself as being very dangerous, however with this tool I felt safe do its safe bar and good grip on the spring and very easy to use.

Awesome Product
Easy to use and affordable. Worked perfect for swapping the springs on my 21 Colorado ZR2.Solid construction, I don’t see why these won’t last at least a couple decades.
