Unshakeable Review: A tremendous resource for your financial future - I think Unshakeable is the prequel to Tony Robbins last book, Money: Master the Game. This one is a much lighter read, but make no mistake, this is a tremendous resource for anyone just starting out, and it’s a valuable back-to-basics for even the most seasoned investor. If I’d had this book 20 years ago (and heeded it) I’d have lost less and made a lot more than I did starting out. Today it’s exactly what I needed as I watch the market heating up and feel my emotions start creeping into my investment strategy. HINT: That’s NOT a good thing! “Control what you can control.” – Tony Robbins Why should you read a book about financial freedom by a guy like Tony Robbins? Isn’t he a motivational speaker after all? Tony is a lot more than that, and he happens to be a self-made millionaire too. If you know a little about Tony you know that the secret of his speaking success is his ability to listen. This book isn’t about stuff Tony made up, this book is full of facts and advice from some of the most successful and respected people in the financial industry. Tony listened to them and now he’s passing what he learned on in this book. “You miss one hundred percent of the shots you don’t take.” – Wayne Gretzky Robbins covers so much in about 200 pages, so I won’t try to cover it all here. After a signature high-energy start to his book, Tony gives you his seven “Freedom Facts”, facts that I won’t list here, although I’m sure others will, because in the book he backs up these plain spoken facts with historical and statistical data that drive home his points. You could just skim the book for those seven bullet statements, but please don’t, read it and arm yourself with knowledge that will make you an unshakeable manager of your own finances. (Sorry, had to do that!) I had the privilege of reading a pre-release copy of this book, but I’ve already purchased the Kindle version so I can start over and highlight the heck out of it. Thank you Tony! My only complaint is that he didn’t write it 20 years ago. Review: LOVE THOSE BOOK !! - I love Tony Robbins. I ended up buying a couple for friends as gifts as well.

A tremendous resource for your financial future
I think Unshakeable is the prequel to Tony Robbins last book, Money: Master the Game. Basically a shorter version of Money: Master the Game.
I wasn't very familiar with Tony Robbins until I watched a documentary about him on Netflix called I Am Not Your Guru. Yowza, that thing is crazy! I went from seeing Robbins as slightly weird and cheesy to seeing him as, well, still slightly weird but also...intriguing. I mean, the guy has presence, straight up. You can't help but be drawn to him. And he has interesting things to say in a unique way. That documentary definitely put him on my radar. So I saw this book and decided to give it a read, not really knowing what to expect. After finishing it, I realize I probably should have started with a different book. Unshakeable is short (unlike many of his others), but it's both a rehash of a book he wrote in 2014 called Money: Master the Game, as well as a teaser (it sounds like) for a book he's in the process of writing about gratitude and fulfillment. But apparently he wanted to write a shorter book summarizing Money: Master the Game in order to reach more people and help prevent them from being taken advantage of financially. The book is divided into three sections. Section 1 talks about basic money "rules." He explains financial terms, talks about the importance of investing in the stock market, explains the surprisingly predictable timing of market fluctuations over the years, and--most eye-opening for me--discusses all the hidden fees people end up paying, especially in 401(k)s. (Yikes, I had no idea.) Section 2 talks about financial plans: the importance of avoiding financial loss, risk to reward ratios, taxes, and diversification. Much of this section is written by Robbins's coauthor, Peter Mallouk, a top financial advisor in the industry. And Section 3 talks about the psychology of wealth--basically how and why you should control your mind so that you don't, say, panic and sell everything when the market tanks. Despite the fact that this book is simply the shorter "companion" to Money: Master the Game, I still learned a lot from it. And though I hate to admit to being upsold, I'm intrigued enough by this book to want to check out the 650-page tome it's based on. Robbins just knows how to tell a story and make generic, somewhat boring information seem relevant and exciting to us common folk on a very personal level. He's got skills, no doubt about it. But, to be fair, he also has good information to share, too. I read a lot of financial books and magazines, but I've never heard anyone talk about planning for retirement the way he does in here. It makes sense, and I appreciate the fresh perspective. So, yes, Tony, you sold me. I'll go read your giant Money: Master the Game book. And I'll probably read your next book on gratitude or whatever it is. I'm hooked. No point in fighting it.

Best book on building, protecting and passing-on personal wealth that I have read. It is full of sensible, practical and proven advice...advice that has been proven to work by many highly successful investors. This is the essential playbook that the most successful professional investors have used. Tony Robins interviewed and learned from a wide range of the most successful wealth-builders of our time and then distilled the learnings into his own wealth-building actions and finally into this easily read book. No matter what your experience is in investing, you will find the information in this book useful. It is worth reading more than once. And worth applying starting now, no matter how much wealth you have now. Having had some success myself in building wealth using practices very similar to those in Robin's book, I was so taken with the advice and strategy outlined in Robins book that I bought copies for all my family and close friends. Be 'UNSHAKEABLE' in applying the methods in this book if you want significant financial success.

Best book I’ve read in ages. If you know absolutely nothing about finance, read this book and you’ll know everything you need to know. Anyone can follow this plain language guide to finance. There’s so much you don’t know and need to know!
